    RIP Terry Neill.
    Very sad news.

Did he own and run a pub in Highgate when he called time on managing Arsenal ?

Sad sad day, my first ever City memories stem from the 70-71 season stood on a box with my dad in close attendance swinging a tigers rattle around with Neill at the forefront of that City team. Seems like yesterday in my mind, where have all the years gone. RIP Terry Neill, you'll always be fondly remembered.

Terry Neill was our manager when I started this Tiger journey. He held god-like status to me because my Dad told me he was both a player and a manager. And what's more he was the youngest person ever to do this!

    I was awestruck.

He was a major part of that team that captured me as a child. I was incredulous when he left. How could managing Tottenham Hotspurs be preferable to managing Hull City? I really didn't get it.

And it was downhill from there.

Include that Northern Ireland verses Spain game which was one of the 2 times I saw Georgie Best play and you've got a massive influence on the young Ernie.

    RIP Terry.

The Sportsmans Bar, Holgate, near the wholesale Meat Market, Smithfields ?. I went to see him in there after being told he had loads of City memorabilia on the walls, he didn't have anything from his City days which I found disappointing and told him so. He said he has to cater for the Spurs and Arsenal crowd.

Cheers. I'd heard a similar tale from someone else about going into his pub to see him.

    RIP Terry.

He’s my marker in the sand. The first time I went to Fer Ark was during his tenure, I always thought it was a bit later, 1973ish, but I certainly remember going when Terry was our player manager.

Where do all the years go?

Brought a bit of glamour those days, remember an interview with him on Latenight line up, ,Tom Courtney was also on. Tom didn’t know Neill was going to City,as he couldn’t tell him.
Then later on City were on This is your Life for Tom Courtney.
    Happy news RIP Terry

RIP Terry. Remember Terry as a great player manager. Not many managers at our level drove around in an E-Type reflecting his success in the game at the time.

Saw his debut at Peterborough and all those great matches like hammering Leicester 3-0 and others previously mentioned.
Exciting times when we seemed on the threshold of something big.
Seems such a long time ago, Neill, Docherty, Cavanagh....
    RIP Terry

    Re: Terry Neill's passing.
I've just read that Terry was only 34 when he got the Arsenal job. He took them to three consecutive cup finals. He must have been very early 30's when he took over here, then he had a season or two at Spurs.
