Tulip Siddiq has resigned as Treasury minister following weeks of questions over her financial ties to her aunt Sheikh Hasina, who was ousted last year as prime minister of Bangladesh.
It comes after she was named in an investigation into claims her family embezzled up to £3.9bn from infrastructure spending in Bangladesh.

And everyone thought the previous lot were useless.
Never mind we've still got Starmer, Lammy, Diane, the idiot Ed Milliband and her from accounts........
    May the Lord help us.

I wonder what the reaction will be if the inflation rate comes out at 2.9 - 3.? % this week..... CHAOS!! HEADS ROLLING? ............ Articles from December 2023 had 4- 6 interest rate reductions before 2025 and one stated in 2025 there could be 4 ! so Interest by 1/1/2026 should be down around 3% Mention was inflation should be down around 2%.. in another article ... to be honest I hope inflation is around 6-8% come July/ August/ September...

UK inflation unexpectedly dipped in December for the first time in three months as hotel prices fell and tobacco costs eased.
I dont stay in hotels and dont smoke! so no savings there for me!
noticed a disparity on diesel cost on a journey last evening [ regular route ] from 134.9 to 146.9 local garage was 136.9 [ rarely fill up here ] usually Tesco or Sainsbury...........
will BOE REDUCE INTEREST RATE! .... was on the cards .....
    A breathing space for Rattlesnake ..... !

    Bring back stop and search
Who cares if it upsets some elements of society ?
They are the ones who are largely responsible for this carnage
And anyone found in possession of a knife should be jailed immediately.
If they can't be jailed because they're too young, then prosecute and jail their parents.
This has gone on for way too long and it needs a proper deterrent to stop it.
After every needless death there's always hand wringing and guilt. It's about time guilt stopped and action started.

People need to start taking responsibility for their, or their children's actions.

Our society has massive social problems that have come about over the past few decades because people are lazy and they simply don't care. They are too interested in their own selfish world.

Starmer loves having authority, so it’s about time he did something useful with it and this would be the perfect chance.

Sainsburys are laying off 3,000 staff and closing some of their cafe's and pizza counters. It's not all caused by Rachel from Accounts, but it's certainly a factor according to the supermarket.

If these people can't get new jobs then the unemployment figure will of course increase, we'll end up paying Jobseekers Allowance (or whatever it's called these days) and other benefits to more people which will offset the amount of revenue coming in from increased employers National Insurance contributions. Mortgage companies, banks etc wont get their borrowing back, high street and online spending from those affected will drop.

This madness is seriously harming the private sector and is killing any chance of growth in our economy as long as it continues.
Meanwhile, the bloated Public Sector continue with their final salary pensions and 3 people for every job.

This Government needs to cut the Public Sector gravy train and free up some serious money.

And due to a leaked (ha ha!) document from Thames Water, there are over 1 million illegals in this country, with some 60% of them in London.

Round them up and deport every single one of them. That'll also ease the burden on a lot of our services and waste of our taxpayers money.

Edit - Tesco are also calling on Rachel from Accounts to halt the Farmers Inheritance Tax nonsense and they're right.
She's making the supposed black hole in the public finances even worse by her backward and ridiculous policies.

Up to the age of 16 or maybe 18, thd parents should be made responsible for their kids behaviour, whereabouts and making sure they and everyone they come into contact is safe
Bad parenting accounts for a hell of a lot of problems this country sees
How it’s policed or enforced is another matter but something needs to change and quick
They do it in Germany but the kids are made to face up to their own actions and the consequences

    There’s no easy answer
I was a good boy and so were my kids who were taught respect and good manners from the start
Plus the world was a very different place back then for my generation definitely, and for theirs almost certainly, far far safer
There was more trust and the world was a much safer and predictable place than it is today.

yeah the past was a very different place my parents never searched me for weapons and neither did theirs. I search my kids but when they are out how do you know? The picture is now if your kids are in parts of BS3/4 they will know kids dealing drugs and that is now normal. kids with shanks are common and theres not much being done to change it.

Better still send him to prison and turn a blind eye. Imagine what they’ll do to him, and with any luck repeatedly for the duration of his sentence, it won’t be long before he’ll wish he’d been hung.

Values were instilled into me, I wouldn’t have dreamed of carrying weapons or drugs, I wasn’t an angel, I was a bit cheeky and bit of a rebel, I think that’s healthy in young people, to question things, but I knew where to draw the line.

When I was a kid, I had a sheath knife which I wore on my belt. The blade was about 4 inches long.
It never occurred to me to use it against another person - I used it for whittling sticks - making bows and arrows - and throwing - trying (mostly unsuccessfully) to get it to stick in.
Today I’d be arrested for carrying a weapon, but back in the 1970s it was part of the dress code.
