Oh dear Ashton.......nobody is justifying thuggery.
We're saying to Starmer, as we did before with the previous shower, that uncontrolled immigration needs serious attention.
Despite overwhelming evidence, those on the left and the previous Government simply won’t accept there is an issue RP, the same as the Democrats won’t listen to reason and logic in America

You’re wasting your breath

The contents of this thread recently has made me question my continuing use of this site. For now I’ve decided to continue, but try commenting about City issues only.

I’m quite a political animal so will find it difficult but I really do feel quite sickened by some of the recent comments.

When you feel you are right but a wall of opposition is facing you then it often has a very negative reflection on oneself. I have likely posted many times before my grandfather and "education" from age of 3-6, and his main teaching a "saying" a man without principles is no man at all ! ............ But it did have a verse that principles should include acceptance of being wrong!

to be honest I struggle to see the flood of far right that is being peddled by .gov /police/and media. Whilst I was out of the country in 2011 the riots back then were 10 or even 20 times worse than now [had catching up when got home very eye opening ] there is currently more than " so called far right" also anti immigration/ anti anti immigration/ non 3 generation british with" tooled up attitude" spouting racism/ anti racism disciples / anti protest protesters/ also there is spatterings of anti Israel, palestinian objectors for and against!

Kamikaze states his decision to prosecute has stopped the riots .. but in reality the [ 90-95% ] arrests mainly are public disorder with stand in prosecutors and judges instructed to hand out maximum sentences ... so far out of the 500+ less than 20 have been jailed and it is said police are still looking for some 100 plus or more of "wanted"

Sometimes reality is not what we see or want!

John, we often disagree and I’m happy to debate with you. This time it’s different. We ALL have to stand behind the government of the day, I’d be saying the same if the Tories were in. It’s not about left or right, but right and wrong. As a society we have to defeat this kind of behaviour whether from the left or the right. We cannot give in to violence . SIMPLE

I’m not getting drawn in to this conversation. I may say things I regret.

What I will say is some of you on here need to take a good look in the mirror.

Regardless of politics, left right or centre, the kind of violence we’ve seen on our streets recently is unacceptable, there is no grey area, no one should even attempt to justify it.

I'm quite a political animal as well Ashton but I've go to say I also have felt quite sick of some current activities happening in our country, as you know I am a big believer in freedom of opinion and free speech, the good thing about our forum is we can and should enjoy those freedoms but we can't change the world, you have been honest about your concerns and I applaud your diciplines and self control.

Everyone has a right to an opinion and so far, whilst some posts may annoy individuals either way, there has been no obvious breaching of the forums boundaries, we must all respect each other and keep the tones of discussion delicate, if any ugliness, insults or rule breaking erupts a warning will be offered and I will take the actions required to block the thread if ignored.

We are all City fans and we should stick together, this forum is a great thing to enjoy and I want it to continue for all members and opinions.

Ashton violence is wrong-however people on the right are being made the scapegoat-when in reality far left-stop oil-antitea-Palestinians are the major instigators of violence.
This current government are trying turn it and are trying to get the right to bite. As you saw 100.000 concerned British people had a peaceful protest in London yet they are trying to blame Tommy Robinson and Nigel Farage ridiculous.

Apparently imaginary protests in 100 places this week who said this was happening again instigated by the media and labour government -they had egg on their faces.
people want action they feel unsafe-towns and cities are unrecognisable-This invasion should not be happening-they should not be here they should have been returned. It is costing you-me and everyone else across the country.

The country cannot and should not be open to them they bring nothing to our shores.

Ashton - standing behind any Government whose policies you don’t agree with just makes us sheep. Too stupid to question what we’re being told and what to do

Free speech and freedom of thought and expression (within the law) is the cornerstone of a democracy and a free society

As I’ve said on many occasions on this thread, I do not condone the violence, but the law needs to be applied regardless of the perpetrators and it needs to be the same for everyone

You say you don’t condone violence, but the attempt to justify it. It’s not being sheep to say under no circumstance should violence be tolerated. That’s the whole point (within the law). These actions aren’t within the law.

As for your friend who liked your comment, I’d suggest he shouldn’t post fake news onto our site, ie the post concerning the identity of the Southport atrocity. We all post things from time to time, but it was such a sensitive issue, even then, he needs to be careful.

The world is full of fake or biased news
You only have to tune into the BBC, Channel 4 or Sky News to get the latest editions

It would be a very dull world if we all thought the same and saw things the same way

interpretation ...that is the key ............. no violence should be condoned, but all channels groups] should be treated the same, this has not been so 2 tier being the term being used. the actual "far right" is a miniscule number of the ones being involved are the weapon weildimg muslin/asian / other like palestinian "far right" if they are not then the far right is a very small grouping!
Now up to 40, number jailed [ jailed is about 1 for about every 15 arrested ] , and physical violence a lesser? % of them! 3 COBRA MEETINGS already! was the third to apologise for getting WEDNESDAY WRONG!!! [ was heavily touted by .GOV officials !]
Do I think .gov has this covered...... NO ....... most riots peak then dissolve ... has this sequence peaked? hope so but dont think the actions being taken are actually what UK needs........

So why haven’t the two people at Manchester Airport who broke Policewomen’s noses and injured other Police in a violent attack been arrested or charged yet ?

The world has seen the footage so what are Manchester Police waiting for ?
