Commentators reckon it was the terrible murders of 3 little girls that sparked the riots. I wonder if those of Asian descent at Manchester airport had anything to do with igniting the unrest as well.

Its beyond unclear who the protest was organised by, what the plans were and the Police openly stated that they had no information about any march. Police resources have been wasted, trade lost, inconvenience caused for a march that did not materialise because it never existed.

the protests were against illegal immigration? .... got flipped to anti far right ...where were they? majority of the crowds seemed to be from citizens whose heritage doesnt go back more 2 or 3 generations!

AS FOR THE illegal welcome protesters been proven time and time again it is only in the mind as to actually put them up or "sponsor them" asked if they would use their 2 or 3 spare bedrooms to put up 1 or 2 and an emphatic NO ...... hypocrit's.

Just imagine if this vermin had burnt down your library, looted your shops and trashed your street? I doubt very much whether you'd be quite as accommodating to them as some of you appear to be.

Last night, Bristol showed that it won't be cowed by rioting racists when thousands of decent people came out onto the streets. That's the real Bristol, not the thugs whose actions you attempt to qualify by mealy-mouthed whataboutery.

Just a few short weeks ago the entire country had the democratic opportunity to vote for the direction our country will take. Just 14% voted for the party which promised to stop "all non-essential immigration". 14%! So is immigration the number one hot ticket issue? Really? Doesn't seem to be, bearing in mind just 14% voted to stop it. Labour won that election by quite a margin. Don't like it? Tough - we have democracy in this country not mob rule.

Yours are simply weak excuses for mindless hate and thuggery. It's shameful that you should attempt to justify such disgusting actions. That Manchester incident? Yes, those blokes probably would've been remanded in custody if that copper hadn't kicked one of them in the head which then prompted an enquiry into police actions. But how can that possibly justify the appalling wave of hate, violence and thuggery unleashed on our communities by the far right?

It's utterly despicable that people should use the appalling, evil tragedy in Southport as an excuse to set fire to mosques and assault others. How must those poor families be feeling?

And what's this drivel about "two tier policing"? There's no such thing. In 2011, a significant number of rioters were ethnic minorities and they rightly had the book thrown at them, with 100s jailed. The same thing should happen to those you seem to sympathise with. I know several serving cops and they all say that accusations of "two tier policing" are both insulting and totally wrong. Unfortunately, some of you seem to have been brainwashed by the nonsense served up on Twitter and social media by far right agitators and Putin's pals, who have their own vested interests in stirring up division and tension in our country.

Regardless of what you claim (and let's face it, the man can do no right by you whatever he does), Starmer has done exactly what he should have done. Give no quarter to rioters, stand with those communities under attack and ensure the police and courts have the resources to punish those who destroy their own streets.

Remember the facts next time you attempt to qualify the disgusting scenes of the past week - the far right and their apologists are few, those of us standing against them are many.
