Not sure why all the angst against Cesar tbh

The CLUB offered him the contract terms
He accepted those
When we were relegated it appears both sides were happy for him to move IF another club came in for him I guess on terms both he and the club would accept
Big Phil threw a spanner in the works by effectively saying he would still make the WC squad if he stayed with us as long as he's playing
He said he and his family would like to stay in London
No club has come in on terms acceptable to QPR or the player

What's wrong with any of that??

I think Harry thought he would go this window which is why Green has been playing
Now he seems to be staying I think he will be used.

For Christ sakes we've offloaded 18 odd players. I am completely fine if we are stuck with a born again Joey Barton and the BRAZILIAN NATIONAL GOALKEEPER!!

Get a sense of perspective. The club made the stupid deal, not the player. Get off his back. I'd like to see how many of you would drop maybe £20k a week in salary to move clubs. Very few I suspect.

A lot of moral high grounders around these parts.

It's only goalkeepers who are 'financially crippling'?

Now you're being very naughty. If you read from the beginning you'd see I was talking about a Goalkeeper in the NPC on such wages having never happened before.

You and Flyer have a lot in common you know.

Besides, highlighting the fact he's not our only player on such insane wages in this division as you did, does nothing but strengthen my point, does it not?

Not a bad keeper to have as a reserve even if he's on £65k a week.....Still prefer Green as No1 as he is more suited to the style of football played in the championship.

IMO Cesar will go on loan shortly.....

We would probably find that Green is on something like £50k per week so whats £15k between friends with either of them on the bench........

Its absolutely incredible isn't it?

Over £600m changed hands in the transfer market this window. I'd like to say 'only in football', but as we all know to our cost, other markets are equally illogical, driven by greed, rumour and fear.

Spurs spent £108.5m this summer. And sold players to the tune of £108m. Irritating as he is, Levy is a genius. I bet we are paying a hefty chunk of Ekotto and Carroll's wages, he's too canny to give anything away.

I hope Cesar stays with us, or if he goes on loan that he can be recalled immediately. I doubt Green's nerves will hold the season, and then it will be very good to have a Cesar who will want and need to play at his best to get to play for his Country in the WC in his home nation.

That would mean I would have to PAY £19k+ a week to take the job!

It's all relative. Cut 20/30% of Cesar's wages and he still has thousands spare at the end of each week.

Cut 20/30% of the average worker's wage and they would be struggling to make ends meet.

So so this......well said Eamon

Agreed Eamon but if you had a signed contract on say £68k a week - mentioned above somewhere - would you really want to drop to £48k a week if you didn't have to?

Whilst I appreciate the sentiment these people are not 'average workers' any more than Tom Cruise / J K rowling or similar persons in the 'entertainment' industry are.

Its a finite career over by 40 I guess if you're a keeper.

The point I'm making is that its hardly his fault he was offered the ludicrous terms and had to play behind Bosingwa, Traore & Samba.

Beard is the person who approved the deal - he should be getting the flak - not Cesar

Very important qualification there to check Wubba's momentum somewhat. There comes a point when someone is earning so much money that their lifestyle changes little, give or take a few grand.

Most players in his situation would have moved to further their career. Caesar chose not to in order to earn say 70 grand pw instead of say 45 grand. Wubba's reasoning or not, I know what I would have done.

Swords, we know very little if anything about Cesar's lifestyle to say it wouldn't change if he took a large paycut. I agree compared to the average bloke in the street its obscene but again I suspect very few of us in his position would do what you apparently would do with such magnanimity

Talk is cheap

Cesar has a signed contract the club offered him and he's entitled to honour it. Blimey how often do we chastise players for not honouring their contracts??

We can't have it both ways - or are you suggesting we can if we feel morally outraged?

Again on the subject of Cesar - see Phillip Beard

What wubba has said about Cesar & Beard is correct to a certain extent, Beard gave him the contract and Cesar said "Thank You Very Much".....Now it is down to perception, presumably other clubs have offered him deals on a lower salary and he has said "No Thanks", but Harold has made it known from before the end of last season that Green was going to be his No 1 keeper in the Championship.......so it would appear that Cesar is quiet content to sit in the reserves for his wage instead of taking a drop in salary to get regular game time, this is the perception we have.....off course we may be entirely wrong.

I'm sure that if some of us in our normal working lives didn't like our jobs we would look elsewhere even if it ment taking a lower salary.......

'but Harold has made it known from before the end of last season that Green was going to be his No 1 keeper in the Championship.......'

I suspect that decision was made on the basis that Cesar would depart this window once our relegation was confirmed. Harry played him last season without any apparent issues
