There's a lad from Manchester I work with, he's usually very grounded regarding other teams (except Liverpool!) so it'll be interesting to hear what he says. I've found the proper mancs don't hate us as much as the glory hunters who believe football was invented in 1999.
Same. A guy I used to play football with at Uni is a United ST. Born and bred there. Has no problem with us at all and only hates City and Liverpool. I've casually worn my Chelsea shirt/scarf around Manchester and not had any problems at all. The real Mancs don't hate Chelsea at all because they arent our rivals at the end of the day.
I find the hatred of Chelsea comes from United fans based in the home counties or London whereby they are surrounded by Chelsea fans (and Arsenal too) or the United fans from abroad. The reason why there is no dislike for Spurs is because there is a mutual hatred for Arsenal and Chelsea. But believe it or not there was a time when Spurs and United were big rivals

(not in the same bracket as Spuds/Goons/Spammers) but that's due to my good mates back home being QPR fans. But their hatred for us is unbelievable, it's boarderline obsessive.
