Same. A guy I used to play football with at Uni is a United ST. Born and bred there. Has no problem with us at all and only hates City and Liverpool. I've casually worn my Chelsea shirt/scarf around Manchester and not had any problems at all. The real Mancs don't hate Chelsea at all because they arent our rivals at the end of the day. I find the hatred of Chelsea comes from United fans based in the home counties or London whereby they are surrounded by Chelsea fans (and Arsenal too) or the United fans from abroad. The reason why there is no dislike for Spurs is because there is a mutual hatred for Arsenal and Chelsea. But believe it or not there was a time when Spurs and United were big rivals
There lies their problem Drogs. They have so many glory hunters who think that football began with the introduction of Sky TV. They know nothing but success and have never tasted real disappointment. They hate anyone else having some success and have to resort to excuses like money etc. They hate JT with a passion and have no interest in justice. They just want JT hung out to dry whilst conveniently forgetting misdemeanours by the likes of Giggs, Ferdinand, Cantona and Rooney.
With God as my witness when I was in a pub back in Birmingham watching a Liverpool v United game there was a group of United fans watching the game (I think this was when United still had a chance of winning the treble) and one fan had to explain to the other that United had won the treble. The guy was older than me so could not have been younger than 21 but I reckon mid 20s. Hey support the name not the club which is a great shame as the proper United fans are amongst the best out there. Great support
The personal abuse does not strengthen your argument The magistrate was quite clear in the verdict. He said that Because the evidence wasn't strong enough he had no choice than to deliver a not guilty verdict. He did not say that Terry was innocent or had not done the deed.
Exactly that DL, we are not proper rivals - we are rivals in a footballing sense of the word because we've battled it out for trophies. That and that alone is what makes me dislike United, their clueless fans. And I bet the real ones who've actually been through the heartbreak and disappointment and bitterly embarrassed they share their club with such moronic creatures.
Agree I only dislike United for the glory hunting fans I grew up with. People slam Chelsea and City but I began to lose interest in football during the period of United/Arsenal domination. I much preferred United to win the PL than Arsenal and still do. My view is that there are 3 different groups: Rivals (by true sense of the word) - Spurs, Arsenal, West Ham, Leeds Rivals (trophies) - United, City, Liverpool Neighbours - Fulham, QPR, Palace, Millwall, Charlton Any other game - Everyone else The top one can never change no matter what division, relocation, liquidation etc the rest can. Others will disagree but that's just my view.
Well said... I don't particularly hate Manure that much but they are annoying because many of their fans are... Was chuffed when Citeh beat them to the title. We are hated by most clubs nowadays though... even Villa have taken a dislike to us! We should adopt the 'No one likes us' Millwall chant!
I was quite stunned to go to a Villa game and hear anti-Chelsea chants. I wanted to get up and say something until I remembered I wasn't at Stamford Bridge
I went to Villa away last season where we won 4-2... Seemed quite heated. Letting off smoke bombs and all that. Saw some scraps at the nearby train statin and as the Chelsea fans were coming out there were Villa fans waiting for us separated by a line of police... Look forward to hearing what chant they have come up with now we have our European Cup!
I find Villa fans idiots in general. There are always scraps by the train station especially when WBA come to town. Or even worse Birmingham.
The magistrate said as much when he said : "Mr Terry's explanation is unlikely...it is not the most obvious response" ... these are the magistrates words in his judgement. I stand by my statement that if Terry's defence is true then he is a moron...no one I know or have know would respond like he did... They's have said "I didn't say that" or something like that...I have worked in factories, offices, kids homes, in schools, benefits offices and as a fork lift driver and have been a union rep for 18 or so years so have come across loads of rows in work and various allegations and have never come across a response like Terry's. When some one is called a **** they tend to react angrily saying something like "who you calling a ****?" When someone is wrong accused of a racist comment like calling someone a "****ing Black ****" they don't tend to yell " **** off, **** off, ****ing black ****, ****ing knobhead" at the person they think is accusing them. (Terry confirms he said this exact phrase). As he has been found not guilty it kind of only leaves the moron alternative. Terry is simply a member of a long list of odious moronic rich footballers who are putting many people off football.
Definitely agree with that generally, except I personally view QPR as more of a rival (not in the same bracket as Spuds/Goons/Spammers) but that's due to my good mates back home being QPR fans. But their hatred for us is unbelievable, it's boarderline obsessive.
Yeh but they have a good away following which I respect them for. Love going to WBA away. I have no idea why I just do. Nice little ground. Easy to get to. Always a good atmosphere. Great banter between the two sets of fans. Birmingham away is a dump and Villa is quite good to do...
I agree, it's an UNLIKELY response but not an impossible one, like I said - you can't tell someone how they think or what they say. As for Terry, I'm not going to dispute with you about him as a man as I tend to agree with most of it, he isn't a bloke I personally would socialize with but people act like he's raped and murdered, not carried out morally wrong offences! I know people who have slept with friend's mrs' and they have kids, it's a common thing in this world, but you can't judge him being racist purely because you dislike the bloke.
I'm starting to see QPR as a bit more of a rival and with their owners etc. I expect them to be in the prem for a while which will build up the rivalry. Were Millwall in the prem then I would consider them a rival. And Liverpool is always a game full of passion and I would put them as main rivals too! Apart from that I totally agree.
The reaction of Chelsea fans tells you everything you need to know about their club. Good luck next season JT you really will need it mate. The P.R department at Chelsea must love you as much as your black team mates.
