We played with one up front today.
A lot of players did well, so first evelen against PKE?
No Scooby from me,
I think these are the definite players in Stephane's mind:

Dembele
Chair
Dunne
Field
Mbengue
Poku

Possibly Smyth

I don't think he's decided on main striker but I suspect, after the remaining PS games, he'll go with Kelmann and Celar as bench.

I think he's warming to Vale, Morgan, Esquerdinha

The keeper situation is confusing. If we lose Nardi, I'll be worried about this season.

I'm hoping for a big season from Chair.
The stats may prove me wrong but for a number of reasons I think last year was his worst for us and was missed severly missed going forward.

I think he's got loads of talent but lots of bad habits. Past managers just seem to let him play as he wants. But I think he needs close coaching and quite specific instructions, especially when it comes to releasing the ball.

He started releasing early to Willock mainly for the last few months of Beale who could clearly coach individuals
Been frustrating and over rated before and since

If someone came in and offered decent money for him, I'd take it.

However, I think we'd need to bring someone else in, in that case. I don't see Dembele as the answer. He's too lightweight and somewhat similar to Chair in terms of poor decision making/holding onto the ball too long.

In fairness to Dembele, he's had a stop/start first season with us. The ability is there, it's just a matter of getting consistent game time without injuries. Chair has been out talisman for a while now, since Eze left really. He really needs a big season for us and himself.

Julien Stephan says that Chair will play a more central role this season.

So what’s not to like about
Nardi
Dunne Morrison Mbengue Larkeche
Field Varane
Poku Chair Dembele
Frey

on the assumption they were all fit stayed fit and had a run of games showing the form we have seen from all of them in patches?

several decent subs as well

I'm really scared now. Got a horrible feeling will just go safe safe safe.
RB Aussie lad,CBs could be geezer from Reading and lad from Aberdeen who looked quality pre season, LB Brazilian lad. Midfield Chair, Varane, Field, Poku, Demele, No.9 Burrell, Celar, Kolli, Frey, Sutton or who is fit
Starting line up will be
Dunne, Cook, Morrison, Larkeche
Poku, Field, Madsen, Varane, Dembele, a striker

Can anyone explain to me what's Julien Stephan's thinking right now?
We don't seem to be playing with an out-and-out striker. The last couple of warm-up games, we've been hoping to have our attacking midfielders score our goals. Not one of our proper strikers has had a run out and he didn't even bring on the new signing Burrell for the last 20 minutes v Brentford when we really needed a goal.
I'm worried that he 's going to set us up as a counter-attacking team and rely on our pace to nick a goal. Is that what we've come down to? So what's the point in having 3 or 4 strikers if we're not going to utilise them?
It's all quite worrying as we sit 6 days away from PNE.

I'm pretty sure he intends to use 1 striker. Celar was unavailable against Brentford and there were no strikers fully fit for several pre-season matches.

If Celar is fit on Saturday, I'm certain he'll start with him.

4-2-3-1

Celar
Dembele Chair Poku
Vale Varane
Larkeche Morrison Mbengue Dunne
Walsh/Nardi

I really hope we go for a 3-5-2 (3-2-3-2). Especially at home to the likes of Preston:

Celar Burrell
Dembele Chair Poku
Vale Varane
Morrison Mbengue Dunne
Walsh/Nardi

But as mentioned previously - Who knows what he'll go for? Who's fit? What formation? Madsen? Goalkeeper? etc...
