Yeah he's earned the right. He's the champ.
He'll be fighting one of them, next year. He'll be hoping for Wilder. I think he'll try and avoid Fury.
Will be interesting to see what's next. Usyk would seem like the most likely option with Wilder and Fury tied up.

I'd like to see Hunter face Usyk, again. It's his only defeat and if he can correct that then it puts Hunter firmly in with the 'elite' heavyweights. It was a good performance by Hunter tonight but he'd have to be more ruthless against better opponents.
Somehow managed to completely avoid the result and any info. Watched it right through and Joshua did exactly what I said he needed to do and won. Enjoyed watching that too. Wasn’t a knockout fight and it couldn’t be if AJ wanted to win. Best boxing I’ve ever seen AJ do.
I don't think that Joshua is getting enough credit. He made me eat my words.
It was a real boxing masterclass. He dominated the fight with his jab and Ruiz was never able to get in close. I thought in round 6 or 7 when AJ got dragged into a brawl for about a minute and a half that was the only time during the fight, I thought he put himself in danger. He quickly retreated though and went back to getting in and out without Ruiz really landing a glove on him.
They both want a 3rd fight but I'm not sure what Joshua would get out of that, tbh. There's no appetite for it, it wasn't even close.
Agree totally. I love watching fights and really enjoyed that. It wasn’t swashbuckling or swing a minute, but it was a perfect example of how to box. As you say, never thought AJ had that in him.
Some people found it boring but if you appreciate the art of boxing, it was anything but. Coaches will be watching that back with their fighters for years.
I think Joshua's team deserve a lot of credit. They've done a brilliant job getting him refocused and obviously dropped weight training for cardio. He normally starts to blow out his arse after 8 or 9 rounds. He looked like he could have easily done a few more, at the end. I still couldn't see him out boxing Fury, though.
Nah Fury’s a better boxer. But THAT AJ would at least give him a match. Love to see it
How the hell is he the WBO number one contender? He's only fought once at this weight level and it was against a last minute replacement only having a few days notice to fight. He couldn't knock him out either, the 38 year bloke old bloke who didn't train for the fight just gave up and couldn't be arsed getting back out his seat for the 8th round, if Usyk couldn't knock out a 38 year old never was who'd only been given a few days notice for the fight what chance has he knocking out Joshua?
