Whoa. I didn't think it would actually happen just yet from Levy <yikes>

What an earth is happening at this club?

First of all we become one of the 12 biggest ****s in the game and now we’re sacking the manager 6 days before the cup final?

Don’t get me wrong we’ve all said Jose should be sacked but this feels like it’s come out of the blue. If we’re going into face City with Ledley King or someone like that in charge that just makes no sense whatsoever.

Edit: Mason and Powell? Powell has proper experience I suppose. I feels a bit rushed though if I’m being honest.

Fabrizio Romano saying Ryan Mason will be taking over until June. Hmm - that's extremely surprising if true.

Ryan Mason and Chris Powell in charge

Mason's the U18 coach, IIRC, but it's supposed to be him and Chris Powell, who at least has managed at some level before.
He's coaching our academy and has some part in the England set-up, but he's not done anything notable.
Not many games left, but it does seem rather uninspiring. Might have someone lined up already for the summer, though.

One source, whether how true it is, is saying there was a heated discussion as Jose refused to take charge of the team’s training due to the ESL announcement, therefore been sacked as a result.

IF and it’s a bit bloody IF that’s true, good on him and I actually stand by him.

No way that's true, as Levy could use it to void his contract and avoid paying him anything.
Mourinho's not that silly.

He’s already extremely wealthy and will walk into punditry jobs after this for as long as he wants to. He’s precisely the kind of person who can afford to be principled about this kind of thing. Of course we have no idea what’s actually happened though, there isn’t even a statement on the club website yet.

If (and big if) Jose has quit over the ESL announcement then good on him. It may be the most principled thing he's ever done. I wanted him gone and don't like him, but give him his due on this. Sure you can come up with all sorts of mitigation of why it's not such a big thing for him in particular, but the point is (if it's true) he actually did it. As of now I haven't heard of any other ESL managers doing the same thing.
