Maybe but not at the 12m that Boro wanted......way out of our price range.....

We couldn't afford his wages in a loan deal either.....

When we got Smithies from Huddersfield, I said we should've gone for a double swoop and got Nakhi Wells too - at the time we were not in a bad place, and would've been a good prospect for him - he would've been a great replacement for Charlie. Now we're sniffing at the recycling bins at the back of Lidl for our strikers, no way we'd fork out money on someone like Rhodes.

Wells would only cost £1m then but Arry didn't rate him. <doh>

I was going to say the same. If Jordan gets them up in the PL that £12 million will be peanuts.
Exactly Oslo. Our owners are loaded and the sums mentioned compared to what they will get in the Prem is peanuts.
two rhodes wouldnt get us promoted this season
might as well see this season out and see what the next transfer window brings
push for the summit next season

And there we have it. Genius Harry didn't rate him. He clearly reckoned that the outlay would leave enough in the kitty to go towards paying the wages for one of his dependable good sorts for half a season or even less than that if you factor in the cost of appointments with the specialist

He could have kept us in the Championship this season.

This seems to be our main objective now, hence the bargain-basement signings. Having speculated quarter of a billion for abject failure the days of silly big-money signings are over. We couldn't afford the Rotherham striker, what does that tell you?...

That Financial Fair Play negotiations behind closed doors are inhibiting the scale of current transfers.

I know and we won't go up next season either because the club keeps making the same mistakes.
