Whenever he gets his badges, I can see him as a future manager for Sunderland, but hopefully Mogga somewhere in the system...I like the guy
There are definitely some big (well, biggish) names still in football at the lower levels because of their love for the game, not because they're chasing the £I don't believe that. Everybody is different, you can't put every footballer on the planet in the 'doesn't give a **** about passion for their club only cares about money' club.
All I know is if it was me I'd give anything to play for Sunderland, especially if I still had plenty to offer and wouldn't be a bit of a liability. You can always earn more money in the future and I'm sure he will but you can't turn back time if you turn down the chance to play for the club you love.
He did. He signed back for them from West ham.
He spent 2 years at Blackburn after that before retiring, but he was still only 30 when he went to Boro, 2 years younger than what Henderson is now.
But he is only 32. He will never be able to earn what he can know as a top player. He owes it to his family to earn what he can while he can. And of course the children will have been brought up in Merseyside.
He will have enough money now to last me a few lifetimes.
Also will still have England ambitions which as we all know tend to go out the window when you play for Sunderland, especially if we’re still in the championshipOf course, by normal standards. But he won't be living by them, and he has many decades of life to pay for.

With his money he could come back and buy a nice house in Pennywell or Southwick.
I'm sitting here tears streamingI will eat all of my hats if it happens. Would be utterly remarkable to the point I can’t even entertain the suggestion it could happen![]()

Could buy both estates, chuck Witherwack in too
Shop is opening up as a Naga Noodle express. Supposed to be canny according to those who have been to other ones. Obviously not on the level of Lee's.Witherwack lost it's Soul when Mr Lees never reopened after Covid.
But what about his agent ? They are all money grabbersI don't believe that. Everybody is different, you can't put every footballer on the planet in the 'doesn't give a **** about passion for their club only cares about money' club.

Aye, we used to swap between there and the chippy at Redmonds for dinner at school. Don't even let the kids out of the school these days. It's good that someone has opened it again, but Lee is nostalgic. Legging it up on a break time for dinner in the 90s. Gravy was unreal. They used to keep the sauce the spare ribs came in and see it, known as "Red sauce". Saturday night supper from there with a film from the video man in his Bedford rascal. Memories
