According to Supermac on STARRadio Jonas has a clause in his contract which says that if he is fit, he plays. This is apparently the reason he was never dropped last season.

Should have got rid of him as soon as the season ended. Don't rate him, never really did. Can't cross, has zero pace and when he comes against a decent defender/opposition in general he gets dealt with.
Not in Jonas case, all he has to do is make sure he takes Pards shaft to the hilt and doesn't forget to swallow.

That would make more sense. Perhaps the contract clause "if he can fit", not "if he is fit".

No! You can't tell anyone who knows anything about football would allow this clause in a contract. Who was it that was negotiating new contracts at the time?...oh hang on maybe there is something to it.
Doubt it. There have been times (especially in his first season) where he was benched a few times
