And showing himself to be the intellectual that he is

A Cole said:
Cole, 31, responded on his official Twitter account: "Hahahahaa, well done #fa I lied did I, #BUNCHOFT***S".

This thread has made me think a bit more about the difference between Terry and Suarez, in a lot of ways Suarez was worse, I now understand, because of the premeditation.

So like Suarez pre-planned what he would say to Evra before the match?

And Terry said something that he has never said or thought before ever?

<laugh>

Very much looks like you are backing 'Johnny Englander' here, if i call a black person either of the things Terry or Suarez said there would be no 'well what the South American said was worse' would there?

I don't think that's what he meant by premeditation, PMK.
I believe that he's suggesting that Suarez thought, "What can I say to wind up Evra? I know, I'll use a bit of racism", as opposed to John Terry blurting out whatever came to mind.

I'm not sure which is worse, to be honest.
One suggests a cynical and nasty use of racism, whereas the other suggests a more racist mindset.
Not good, either way.

Fair enough PNP, but there's been a lot of people trying to pretend that they can seperate racism into grades and categories and somehow make JT's outburst seem fair but wrong within the heat of battle which is bs, all forms of racism are wrong surely.

I started off thinking the Terry case was worse. The fact that Suarez did it repeatedly has made me think again about it. It is premeditated because he keeps saying it, in my opinion, to wind Evra up. Believe me, your summary of me above couldn't be more wrong. As usual, PNP understood my point.

Racially abusing an opponent in a game of football is just plainly wrong, regardless of the character or motivations of the person doing it.

I'm not sure what Cole's objecting to, there.
The word was added to his statement at a later date. That's not in doubt.
As to his character, he does have a history of dishonesty, repeatedly cheating on his wife, for example.

Clearly I can only say "if this is true" ....but to call a black person a "black ----" and then in defence lie about why the words were used..... AND then use a black person to aid in your defence, is what a contrived vile scumbag would do.

Did anybody really expect anything else from these people. If you stick an S in front of the FA, that about sums them up. So, now we know, it's ok to call somebody a f.....g black c...t so long as you don't do it in a racial manner <doh>

S in front FA becomes the Scottish FA, surely?

Cole has said this via Twitter:
"I was really upset and tweeted my feelings in the heat of the moment. I apologise unreservedly for my comment about the FA."
That'll probably put an end to it.

Sorry SD.<ok>

I see your point about the 'wind up' aspect but without posting links and going over old ground Evra himself was on the wind up himself that day(although nothing referring to Suarez's skin colour), remarks about LS's sisters vagina even though he hasn't got a sister<laugh> and that he didn't shake hands with South Americans(when the ref intervened), but thats done and dusted and soon JT's case will be old news.

Problem for them is they both will be tagged as racists from now on.

Good. Might make others reconsider before taking similar actions themselves.

Can't see it myself PNP because of the FA's non consistency, for example a few months ago Paulo Di Canio admitted referring to one of his squad by his skin colour during training, he apologised and wasn't even charged by the FA.

Still only time will tell.

Not this Paolo di Canio, surely?

It depends on what he said. Suarez and Terry were both being racially insulting and aggressive, so the situations could well be different.
Di Canio's probably still wrong, but the behaviour isn't necessarily the same, so the punishment doesn't have to be.
That wouldn't be inconsistent, though it wouldn't be great, either.
