Very very worried if JE goes for whats effectively pocket change. I buy into the make players and sell philosophy but it means we have to make more than we need to use. It also means we need a spine to the team and as mentioned above JE (Malkys mouth and mind on the turf) and MT (The next Malky) are in my mind that spine or the engine room if you like. You cannot underestimate the importance of leadership and JE has been pivotal in this, even when Jay was still here our better performances were when Jay was injured and JE jumped into the role whether he wore the band or not. An important part of next season is building a couple of on field generals but as I see it we haven't progressed this issue this past season therefore a big NOT FOR SALE sign needs to go around both John and Tinys necks.
Its a board decision then, so we're in the hands of JW GT ST and DF (of the football club), we should be ok then. Just noted on the corporate website they're not showing directors of Watford Leisure PLC any more these guys really do not inspire me with confidence. Hope its the club board and not the plc board asa I'm sure the hairdresser would think anything over the ã80 for a color and blow dry would be worth accepting!!!
You never know Leo , I might be totally wrong about the man (really hope I am and really want to be writing a public apology to him) How ever If you ever shake hands with him ,check you still have all your fingers!
Yes - that is the impression I got from you - and to be fair you were quite open and ready to give him credit if it was due
We`ll see, I maybe have the wrong end of the stick.......it has been known ( please god let me be wrong on this!!)
We are all worried about Larry's business acumen. Jack Petchey had no social skills and no taste in women, but his business acumen was beyond question - none of his businesses ever went bust and some of the deals he made were stunning. Whereas I know someone who has had dealings with Larry and describes him as laughable, a total no hoper. And that fills me with dread. I still believe Larry is LA's "lakky/gofer" in other words he will do as he is told, but has no common sense or judgement. Although with his chequered history it is probably best that he doesn't have any authority. IMO Larry's task is to bring cash in, and to that end will need to rely on others expertise. I can only hope the likes of GT have authority within this regime.
It really begs the question though why him? If you were choosing somebody to do a job for you in the business world you'd choose someone with track record in what you want achieved, now as far as I know his track record is good at running companies into admin/liquidation so as an outsider you naturally ask is that whats desired here and then you look for conspiracy theories that might work and the road heads straight to saracens.
The worrying thing is there is a certain logic to your reasoning! I wish we were owned by the warehouse people in slough!
Eustace is irreplaceable. Without him our central midfield is not secure at all......Cowie is going to be on the wings and McGinn (who isn't that experienced himself) will be out for some time.....so we'd be left with Jenkins and.........?????? Walker???....Murray??...... It's not worth selling Eustace....he's our captain and we need him. The money isn't enough to compensate for the loss we might have if we were relegated.
Wasn't part of his reason for staying when Leeds came in because his family were all settled down here? Presumably that factor would still be in play. The other thing is the Observer states he has a year on his contract. This means until he signs a new one he will feature in the rumour columns. Significantly, in the Observer piece Malky says they are in negotiations for a new contract - could the story be the work of an agent as a negotiating tactic?
Elixir - just hope you are right and that BAz is jsut a front man - maybe he was picked for that role as he is a bear of very little brain
I think you have hit the nail on the head there!!! good calll a trouble making agent at contract negotiating time makes a lot of sense!
One thing in Baz`s favour he does have the gift of the gab !, how much substance to it remains to be seen!
