You don't have to be black to be racially abused. He's not British so any derogatory remark about his nationality would be racial abuse
I think he might be German but not sure but as KM says you can be any colour and still be racially abused
My guess is because he's German he's gone down that route.

The trial of a football boss who allegedly assaulted another manager has been delayed because of coronavirus and the football season.
Fleetwood manager Joey Barton, 37, was due to go on trial on Monday.
He is accused of pushing Barnsley's then-manager Daniel Stendel after a match in April 2019.
The trial was initially adjourned because of Covid-19 and has now been rearranged again for June 2021 to avoid clashing with the football season.

Anyone else wondering how his legal team are manipulating the Justice system to suit their clients football needs.
Any no name scrote would have been up before the beak within a couple of months of the offence taking place not a couple of years as this case appears to be heading.
Perhaps his barristers are not hopeful of getting him off without a short custodial sentence. Here's hoping he get what he deserves with his previous record.
