Not half as stupid as you suggest. Misunderstood or unfulfilled intelligence / academic ability is a known cause of delinquency and criminality. At extreme levels, quite a few cases of 'crime organisers' and serial killers for example, evidence such people believing in their own superiority to such extent that they arrogantly enter a game of catch-me-if-you-can with police. It often becomes difficult to distinguish motives in the end: the kick they get from the crime itself; or the buzz from the subsequent game. This, together with the academic achievements of prisoners who had had little formative education, strongly highlights the correlation between intelligence and negative conduct at all levels. Hyperactivity and bad behaviour in kids is often explained by frustrated intelligence. Many cases of high IQ levels involved. The contradiction between Joey's obvious intelligence and his propensity to 'lose it' completely, makes Imaz's suggestion hypothetically more than viable imo. It's not proof but must be in the frame. Surprised you two haven't heard of such phenomena. Pretty common knowledge.
Certainly have! Barton is a thug who thinks he's a better footballer than he actually is! I don't care how "intelligent" one is....that's no excuse for stubbing a cigar out in someone's eye!! Making excuses for that kind of thing is the liberal road to madness!!
Also...there is just as much evidence of low intelligence being a cause of crime committing and violence.
Now I've heard some tosh on here over the months but this takes the biscuit. Barton is a scum-bag and the fact that he's intelligent has nothing to do with. Some thugs are intelligent, some are not and most are probably somewhere in between. And for you to be excusing his behaviour as some sort of frustration at not being validated for his intellect is nothing short of a disgrace. And by the way Brix, I noticed when I left that you suggested I was kissing your arse so you would continue to Moderate with a Liberal hand. Let me be abundantly clear. Any compliment I gave you for your moderating style was genuine. I can assure you mate, I've never brown-nosed anyone in my life and certainly not some Cyber-dude that I've never met.
