Well now, master-simpson has spoken, so I guess we can call it a wrap on this article.
I don't know why he beats about the bush, he should just say what he means!

Can I just say that whilst i am sick of this, how come, when Barton dragged gervinho to his feet, a free kick was given to Newcastle? The ball was in Newcastle possession and still in play yet Barton grabbed a player by the shirt (initial offence) it was an exaggerated fall but he was fouled and as soon as that's played on and Barton commits an offence in the box, it must a penalty, yet the ref gave a free kick?
That is a fantastic point.
Everyone has an opinion on the incident, and I've kept fairly quiet because I agree with the majority of toon fans- Barton started it, but his was a YC offence, whereas EVERYONE knows as soon as you raise your hand to someone's face, you're off. Barton went down easy, but he went down justifiably, and I don't think that's cheating. Imagine if he stayed on his feet and the ref didn't send Gervinho off because he didn't see it properly?
However marcus, a great point in the aftermath, is that yes it was Barton who committed the initial offence for the yellow card, and therefore yes, he has fouled Gervinho in the penalty box, and it should be a yellow for Barton, a red for Gervinho, and a penalty for Arsenal because that's when the play stopped.

Damn, the game's been put back a day and I didn't even know about it? I could have been waiting outside the ground for 24 hours if I hadn't come on here and found out.
