The law is the law but look at every situation on it's own merit.

There's a difference between someone slightly over the limit due to an oversight vs someone who's driving home pissed after a night out.

If he had drunk a quarter of a glass less he'd have been ok.

There's a difference between being a toe over the line and being a mile over it.

He was punished because he crossed a line that has to be drawn somewhere, and he crossed it, I just don't appreciate people painting all offenders with the same brush sometimes.

He was only slightly over, he shouldn't be jailed or suspended for this. It's not severe enough of an offence IMO.

I don't think anybody is saying anything otherwise. If he had been a mile over the line and not a toe over it then he would be going to prison. He wasn't though and he has been punished and it is dealt with. It's still wrong to be a toe over the line though, and would be just as wrong to pretend it was ok as it would to be over reacting.

Also needs to be some perspective. "2 glasses of wine" is a very loose term. My wife has a wine glass where to fill it twice would be equal yo about 1 and 1/2 bottles of wine. <laugh><laugh>

**** off is that an oversight.
He has 2 drinks somewhere (according to him) then drive home straight away.

Go look up how many people die or seriously maimed by drunk drivers.
I’m with DPP on this one. The limit is there for a reason. To be honest the limit should be zero.

Fact is if he had knocked someone over and killed them it would have been catastrophic.

He takes his punishment just like anyone else should.

At some point in peoples lives they should realise its all about making money nothing else.

Never had a special brew before.

What’s it like. Sick in a can?

No idea. Cheap but strong, I think. Bit of a thug drink.

When I was a teenager (all those years ago) lads near us used to buy one of the 2L bottles of Diamond White cider, mix it with Special Brew to make snakebites and they were literally off their heads after a couple of hours. <laugh><laugh>

I remember diamond white. My first experience of drink and spewing within an hour and then getting a panning from me dad.

Oh happy days they where.
