Nationality is a legal concept and a personal one. I have dual citizenship UK & Australian but I feel British/Welsh. I support Oz sports if they're not against a U.K side, and have a massive affection for the country and its people but I don't feel Australian because I'm not, even though I have a passport.

I have to say KJ ,considering you Made a big song and dance about not commenting on any of my threads, you dont half comment alot on my threads..<laugh>

Tut tut..say one thing,do another ;)

I hope the " Allen " decision is a business one & not a tug on the heart one . Remember where we are & how many clubs will always have more money to work with than us .... I want the money if Joe wants to go .... Frankly , at 15 million , I want the money even if Joe doesn't want to go . Gift horses don't come around enough to look this one in the mouth

Should I be putting up post in Welsh? because no one has come back with any names to replace Joe Allen! which is what I thought, so let's hope we keep him......................<ok>

Plenty of names to replace him Phil, but it will be someone unexpected that we will haven't thought of. But we don't know if he is going yet so it could all be premature

Well I have a couple of names Jager, but will keep my own council till it is clear what really is happening, though your probable right on the unknowns, wonder how Bodde is doing back at his old club, in Laudrup we trust aye, interesting what Leon has stated!............ <ok>

We would be disappointed if Joe goes - I think that goes for the players, the staff and the fans," Britton told the South Wales Evening Post. "That's because if he goes, we know we will be losing a really good player. "Players like Joe are hard to replace - the money they are talking about him going for tells you how good he is. - Leon Britton

Ander Herrera? In the Spanish squad for the Olympics, think he's 22. Described as the heart of the midfield for Bilbao this year, and possibly Laudrup would be able to get him for 8 million+, looks a massive prospect!

Interesting that the BBC is reporting that the Allen deal is now imminent because Liverpool have offloaded Aquilani.

They must be assuming that the undisclosed transfer fee + wages saved + Rodgers' knowledge of Allen's contract (minimum release fee of £15 million) = Allen to Liverpool.

But Liverpool can't bid for a year unless we accept a bid from another club and the minimum release fee is only activated when one of Man U, Man City, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool bid.
So far only Spurs have bid and we can reject whatever they offer.

It seems to me we hold all the cards and Liverpool are far from favourites to land Allen.

How about we play hard ball and don't accept a Spurs bid unless it's circa £20 million. Could Liverpool afford him in those circumstances?

If Spurs don't bid anymore than £12-13.5 million than we sit tight and work on Allen signing a new and improved contract with a bigger release fee.
Of course if Laudrup thinks he can replace Allen and improve other positions with less than £15 million (I imagine he is negotiating with various clubs/players right now) than we can accept less...and only then do Liverpool stand a good chance.

On this deal we hold the superior negotiating position and he will only leave if it suits us.
Unlike Siggy the power is in our hands.

It's Bilbao, they're notoriously hard to buy players from due to their all-Basque policy.

Doesn't really matter if it's Laudrup or Mourinho asking, it'll be expensive.

Anyway, on Joe Allen... We've just returned from the USA and the clear out of players should begin now-ish. We've just got rid of Aquilani for around £5-7M. The Allen deal could happen.
