I sit in E5, i totally agree about the atmosphere being terrible last year and that poor performances aren't a good enough excuse. But if the performances improve, so will the atmosphere. It's not the sole reason why the it died last season, that's a number of things ranging from prem hangover to so-called 'plastic fans' (touchy subject i know!) that only started going in the prem days and then decided to sit in the east stand to 'get amongst the atmosphere' but in turn just diluted the crowd with more people unwilling to start chants and a whole bunch of other reasons. But i still maintain that if the performances improve, the atmosphere will too
Undoubtedly the fall of the Premier League bandwagon is partly to blame. I also think an improved atmosphere will come as a result of better home results - but surely that's true of any team? Whatever the home form next season, the fans (especially those in the ES) need to get behind the team more and stop making the occassion of a Hull City home game feel like a funeral
As for the original topic, Jimmy is our player, and our best player at that. He's far better value for his wage than Olifinjana, Kilbane, Ghilas or McShane and he can completely control games in a way we totally lacked last season. It's looking increasingly likely that he'll stay, and if he does, he can be the new playmaker we need. Of course we should cheer him.
If he plays for his wage, people will back him simple. As for atmosphere North stand to the home fans, make it unreserved jobs a good un, Kempton re-incarnated. too many people look at you like your daft when you vocally back City at the Kc these days, what is there problem? had a guy in North stand ask me to lower my volume against Swansea last season hahaha !! Couldnt believe what i was hearing, mentality behind this anybody?
of course! the saying goes, anybody who puts the black and amber shirt on should be supported..so if im forced to put that into practice for donkeys like harper, i certainly am going to for somebody with talent wearing it!
Its about time that the moaners and singers in the East Stand realised that many of the supporters in the West Stand are old timers and long time supporters of the Tigers - many of us go back to supporting the team in the 1950's and some even further. We did our singing and chanting from the East Stand of "Gooseberry" Park and for many years and YOU in YOUR time will take our places in the West Stand and YOU in YOUR turn will suffer this needless abuse. We are quiet because we are hoarse and have sung and chanted for many years before most of you were even born and now it's your turn to make the noise!!!
Never understood the logic of having a 'singing area' in the North stand, everyone knows e2-e5 is already the place to be if you want to get involved with that, it's upto those who choose to sit in that part of the ground to start making more of an effort. Surely all city fans are aware that those blocks are the place to gravitate towards if you want to get more vocal. **** me they've been the only areas that have made a peep since we moved in.
there are too many little rules & guidelines being introduced into football stadiums.. it's a community ground and you should be able to support the team as you see fit, standing up too.. I enjoyed going to matches in Turkey as it was still terracing, very loud, hostile & vocal.. drums, firecrackers the lot.. I never saw any violence myself either even though it was Goztepe & they are fanatics..
hes the same as any other player for the club.i'll cheer them all on but let them know if there been ****.
I don't sing because at the kc stadium, my voice goes soft from repeating the same 4 songs every game
