JFH's comments are called excuses. I'd suspect that any player plus Tony or Les who comments would be ripped apart so why bother? Perhaps to add fuel to some consipracies about dissention in the camp?

Perhaps they've had their day off cancelled and they're still training relentlessly? That's not very meaty for a conspiracy though is it.

If you think our performances against Preston, Blackburn and Newcastle don't need improvement, then you may have been watching through rose tinted spectacles.
JFH has taken us backwards. We are a piss poor lower championship side without a decent striker and a crap defence (0-6). No chance of a play off place unless something changes and quick. He has to go I'm afraid.

So he needs to turn around a two game winnless streak (one point) and a non-sequential other defeat to keep his job?

The main reason being that his young, inexperienced squad built on a mid table budget with a mid table wage and budget might not make the play offs?

Through my rose-tinted specs, it looks a bit like hysteria.

Why are people so obsessed with THIS season?

    JFH's stats as QPR manager:
    P W D L Win %
    37 11 15 11 29.7

You might be happy with that, but I'm not.

It's mid-table form. I'm not ecstatic with it but it's where I expect us to be.

Firstly, you picked up on my response to a rumour that JFH had to "turn it around" which had little to do with me being happy.

Regarding those stats, as Wats says, it's completely average. I'm not thrilled but we've had worse stats with better and more expensive teams than this.

It also says that JFH has only had about 3/4 of a season which is nowhere near sufficient time to judge a shift in approach from buying to developing, shifting out the old guard to free up funds to buy potentially good players, buying those players (primarily from lower leagues or abroad) and then trying to develop those players.

Judging from day 1 in those terms seems harsh (or to hit average would be considered a fair result).

The idea of pulling the trigger at this stage is the most alarming prospect.

    :emoticon-0148-yes:

Exactly the sort of thought process that should be employed rather than the knee jerk, kick the manager out response that have been posted not just on here but on other forums as well.

This process will take time and we may have another tonking or 2 to stomach this season as well, but in the long term things will improve although it's likely to take another season or two in the Championship to get to that stage.

I had us down as lower table just outside relegation spots in the predicition. Not because I don't want to see us thump everyone week in week out, but because that is where we are as a club and a squad.
Now, regretfully I visit Loftus Road as often as an eclipse these days and would doubtless have another opinion if I were there. However, I have been regularly in the past for many years and seen us be very, very poor, yet we still held up as a club.

    What would you rather?
Sack Hasselbaink now, employ who on big wages?
That magician of a manager is expected to do what this season?
We then have a spend up in January and next Summer - whole new squad, again.
We then find out that it is not an instant success, we are in mid table mediocrity - what then?

We have tried the instant gratification process over the past 5 or so years which gave us:

Waste of money - Useless/no transfer income/massive wages with no VFM

SWP, Ferdinand x 2, Barton, Young, Traore, Cisse, Diakite, Johnson, Dyer, Boothroyd, Zamora, DJ Campbell, Green, Cesar, Samba, Bosingwa, Mbia, Jenas, Doyle, Caulker, Sandro, Kranjcar, Granero, Ji Sung Park - Onouha as well.

OK not Brilliant - Played OK/a transfer return/Some semblence of VFM

Hoilett, Phillips, Townsend, Henry, Fer, the one we bought and sold straight on to Palace, The goalie we sold almost immediately to Palace.

Very good recruitment - Excellent players/transfer return/ Definite VFM

Austin, Nelsen - can't honestly think of anyone else

And those are the ones I can think of off the top of my head. What makes you believe that we are entightled to anything better than lower mid in the Championship?
An honest question - what in your minds, leads you to believe that we are entightled to be in a better spot than we are?

    14K attendances
Hundreds of Millions been spunked by current owners
Over 20 managers in the last 15 years or so
A change of team virtually every Season.

I mean, I must be thick as I'm not seeing this playoff expectation. Sure, we shouldn't be losing 6-0 at home without a yellow card being shown - but we lost by 5 to Swansea at home with a much, much more expensive side at our disposal, was that any better?

Come on - come and get it PERSPECTIVE

Hey, all I have done is say what has been told to me. Added to that I have shown his stats, which in my opinion are piss poor. I have gone on record as saying I didn't think that JFH was the man for the job and I would love to eat those words. I face the prospect along with others of a 300 mile+ round trip to Huddersfield tomorrow and believe me I am not looking forward to the 90 minutes in between.

I'm all for continuity of a good Manager, but what really is there to make you think things will improve in a season or two in the Championship? Parachute payments will stop. Any players who we have who might be good enough for the PL will be sold, if our Owners aren't pushing for a PL return now. Likewise others who have shown themselves to be good Championship players are likely to be sold to more ambitious Championship Clubs than us. I think as a Club we have to be more ambitious than being satisfied with a mid table Championship finish - such lack of ambition is more likely to lead to another failed target and relegation to League 1 this season or next imo. The defensive minded type of game we seem to be playing under JFH is not going to get the stadium full either. Think we need more ambition throughout and if that means a new DOF, a new Coach, or just a new Manager then I hope we do it. Colin where are you?

We had loads of ambition under Hughes. It was his favourite word.

And three days later after we'd been outclassed we were 13th. At this rate of descent we'll be playing in the National League by the end of November. Pardon? What was that? Oh yes. Someone has just reminded me that there are 46 games in a season not 8. That's a relief. I'll postpone the wake for now.

Does anyone really believe on here that where teams are in the table in early September is any sort of guarantee as to where they will finish up in May? Perhaps I've just got it wrong and there are at least 13 genuine title contenders in this league

Really Danish? 5th highest spender in the division, ex prem players and you think we shouldn't improve on last season?
Sorry but with our budget and team we should be a high top half outfit especially as the division is so inconsistent.

Right. But there is a middle more balanced way between what Hughes did that summer and what we look to be doing now.

It's been a poor couple of games but the players brought in were what I wanted more or less. Experienced hardened Championship types and a few gambles. The fee required for 'proven' players was mental.
