Don't start something when there is almost certainly no real disagreement.

"Decent goalscorer" was what I said and I stick by it. He started off the season by fluffing a few shots. As he scored a few, he started getting more confident and the ratio was changing. AS I SAID, he was on his way to becoming a top class player. I don't think he was the finished article at the point he was injured. If you believe that he was as good as he's going to get sobeit, I can't change your opinions. I believe he has the potential to improve.

He's done nothing to indicate disloyalty either. He's never gone on record saying he wants to leave, he's never spat the dummy out on twatter, nor does he seem to have had his representatives brief the media about his CL ambitions etc. At the very least, he's behaved professionally.He's a Saints player and I see no reason to assume that will change in the near future.

Having now seen his site there is plenty of stuff about saints but he rarely seems to do anything official that involves him talking any more. The site and his twitter were supposedly managed for him.

I read Saints related stuff, but have only posted one tweet (now I know you will find that surprising ). That one tweet was favourited by Saints, so I decided to retire on a high.

Please reread my post and point out exactly where I said he was supportive. I just said that Twitter doesn't show that he's not supportive. I have no opinion on whether JR is supportive or not. I do, however, have an opinion on poor evidence advanced to support an argument.

It's evidence I have been seeking. It seems to have become generally accepted that JRod wants away and that it's only a matter of time, yet no one can advance any evidence. He hasn't signed a new contract that is on the table, but I'm not surprised after all the recent turmoil that he is hedging his bets. You have to remember that he has a long term injury...I doubt there are a queue of purchasers interested without seeing how his recovery goes. He may sign a new contract if we look like a team on the up or we may withdraw the offer because we decide we don't need him.

I wouldn't be surprised if he looks to move because he would rather sit on the bench at a higher wage at another club (Spurs, City, Liverpool) than be kept on the bench on a lower wage at Saints

Even if he does return to his same level it will take at least a couple of months after he returns to get back to it. He may not see the point in that gamble

This of course depends on if we receive a suitable offer for him. Not guaranteed due to:

- His serious injury (and potential he may not 100% recover)
- His main suitors being cheapskates
- Other clubs trying to drive a harder bargain as they will feel like we mugged people off in the summer and they will not want the same happening again

I'm with you. I've not seen an iota of evidence to say that he wants away yet it's become accepted that he's off. He's never been particularly drawn towards public statements, so I draw no conclusions from his silence. The talk about his possibly going in summer was ridiculous - who would spend money on someone who might not recover fully. I'd even hazard a guess that January would be too soon, as he'll take time to regain match fitness.
