Sagbo was **** because he is ****, nothing to do with City? Was it Wolves who sent him packing when we were looking to get rid given he was nothing short of hopeless. Comparing Qatar to either the Prem or Championship is just opening you up to ridicule

I wasn't comparing leagues, just pointing out that a lot of these strikers we are so quick to slag off don't seem to have much trouble scoring elsewhere, just when they come to us.

Altidore looked ****e for us, but then went across to Holland and smashed it. Diomande did great in Norway, but if he doesn't do a job here you can bet people will be straight on his case saying he isn't a striker. You ever think the problem might be us?

Or the fact that some players just don't settle abroad. Hernandez has taken a while but he's showing his worth now. He is actually playing with a smile on his face which makes a difference. Probably plays a lot more loosened up rather than tight and snatching at chances.

We have had some dud strikers though. Is it down to the coaching? Our recent run of managers have all been ex defenders (except Barmby, but he was inexperienced) maybe that explains why often we get it right at one end of the pitch, but not the other. I have often said we should have an attacking coach, from recent times.

I agree. That said at the end of the day most of the time you get what you pay for. Pay £10m you get someone like Abel, pay buttons, say no more

Going to be difficult to keep the squad happy if Bamford comes. That will be the end of Akpoms and Alukos prospects and even Diamande would probably only be used as a sub. That will also put addition competition on midfield spots because Diame would also be pushing for a starting place.

Agree. Think that's a difficulty with this loan thing. I think Brucie is happy playing with one up top like Hernandez and a deeper second striker like Diame, so I wonder if this loan striker is basically insurance for if Hernandez gets injured, and not sure Bamford would be keen on that. Not as a loanee anyway - maybe more if we were going to offer him a contract? I wouldn't yet be that confident we will get anyone.

<laugh> Altidore? **** me you're not doing yourself any favours using him as a yardstick, he was also ****e at Sunlan, no matter how much our American cousins bigged him up.

I think Bruce wants a 2nd striker so he can play 5-3-2, for example,

_______Maguire Dawson Davies
Odubajo_______________________Robertson
_________Livermore____Meyler
_________________Diame
_________Hernandez Bamford

He needs a 3rd fit centre back for a 352, i think we may see it a bit more when Bruce and Dawson are fit again.
