I think that's what he's saying, it's taken Abel a long time to settle. Hopefully he'll go on to prove, with ourselves, that he's PL quality, however he failed to do that last season, which is when we needed him.
The reason Hernandez was naff in the Premier league is because he was up against some of the finest defenders in the world. He was well held at that level and found that he is just that little bit short of pace, presence and ability. He will do OK in the Italian Serie A or B but is another Altidore in the EPL.
His point being it took a long while for him to come good! The Long sold & Hernandez bought deal, in hindsight, was not the best move in the World, but if his Mrs wanted to get out of Hull, then he was going anyway! I don't think Hernandez was first choice but Blackburn ****ed us about etc etc. There may have been better than what we got, but we got what we got & we make the most of it!
So why aren't the strugglers, Villa, Sunderland, Newcastle being connected to him now… They all need a striker...
Having watched Southampton v Arsenal yesterday I concur, although £12m is probably about his worth. Question then, assuming that we have no striker, Long for £12m or £10m for Hernandez (with the £2m available for other transfers)?
Kemar Roofe. Great name. http://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/Hull...-Kemar-Roofe/story-28427269-detail/story.html
I think Brucey said not too long ago that he's been watching Josh Windass, presumably as he's expecting Tom to leave in January. He's got 10 goals as well and for £1m I think he'd be a bargain. I can't remember who the other lad was that he mentioned, but I know he definitely said Windass and somebody else. Shame we can't go in for Jack Barmby and have Barmby and Windass in the side again.
I meant signing him as a striker. He's played for Scunny most of this season on the wing, but still scored a sackful.
Its driving my Scunny mates mad. Robbins plays 3-5-2. But makes Madden stand out on the wing to hold down their full back. They're desperate to see him down the middle off the big forward.
His scoring record is pretty decent. I'd be tempted to put a bid in. He's supposed to be really quick too and has a strong work ethic. He'd fit in well with the high energy high work ethic football which seems to bring success. Look at Leicester!
You mean like these sides? http://www.london24.com/sport/footb...ration_as_january_move_now_unlikely_1_4335420 And Sunderland don't need a striker, they already have plenty.
That article's bollocks, "Palace haven't had a goal scored by a forward all season". Except Connor Wickham and Wilfried Zaha.
Well Zaha is a forward, he's played in midfield but also on the right of a front 3. Didn't check the date on the article, but even so they had Sako score, who was playing up front at the time.
The article is referring to their strikers, who at the time hadn't scored a goal. We played Maguire up forward for a game last season, but he's not a forward.
