Per the BBC

"Swansea City manager Carlos Carvalhal remains confident of improving his squad before the transfer window shuts.

Carvalhal was targeting three new signings and says that is still a realistic prospect with only six days remaining until the end of the window.

"I think it is the opposite," he said, when asked if Swansea's hopes of making signings were dwindling.

"It is more likely that we bring in players in the last few days of the window than it is in the first days."

Carvalhal, who has lost just one of his first six matches as Swansea boss, says players who would not have fancied joining the club earlier in the month are now more likely options.

"The clubs, the players, at the start of the window they want to all go to big clubs, not in the relegation positions and so on," he continued.

"But in the last days that situation can shift, people get nervous and it is in this moment that I think our club and other clubs can bring in really good players.

"But if you are asking me whether we still want the players? We want of course. But the reality of the market is completely different."

Swansea had a bid for their former striker, Andre Ayew, rejected earlier this week and have also been linked with a move for Atletico Madrid winger Nicolas Gaitan.

The club are also thought to be keen on FC Augsburg's Ghanaian defender Daniel Opare."

What would Andre Ayew bring to the party?
TBH I'm happy for him to rot in West Ham's reserves.
Certainly wouldn't give in to blackmail.

At the right price maybe, to be honest I was never a big fan of his and couldn't get what all the fuss was about, 1 tidy game in 4 for us. I would rather the money be spent elsewhere, but if cheap enough(I know he wouldn't be) then maybe.

Agree Trunds - I never rated Ayew either - wanted the headlines, like his brother and then jumped ship at the first chance. He can rot for all I care.

As for Mesa, why not offer Las Palmas something like Mesa plus £10m for Jonathan Vieira?

Mind you I am almost in the camp of just ****ing anything at the moment.

The two brothers are too similar in style to play in the same team. Better to spend the money on someone who will bring something different to the team. Mind at the moment I wouldn't be surprised if we didn't sign anybody.
Carvahal has already muted this in that he has said he has enough to stay up even if we don't sign anyone. Why would I not be surprised by that, Put in the press we are interested in this and that and we will spend this amount and actually do **** all. I just wish the yanks and HJ would all just **** off.

Look at reports from Ghana national team supporters.
Not great.

Apparently Mesa sees a return to Las Palmas as a backward step and Viera has said no several times.

I still think we should be looking to loan in a bit of experience just for the rest of the season.
But no word on full backs!

Last Swansea Scout found.

PRESS RELEASE [Reuters Post]

The body of a football scout, beleived to be the last swansea football scout has been found in the middle of no where. It appears the doomed scout had been walking in circles, lost and clueless for the entire January transfer window before finally succumbing to the futility of his task. Preliminary reports state that he died alone from complications caused by the deadly 'Utter Despair' syndrome; the same syndrome which plagued his Scouting department for years rendering it 'not fit for purpose' and completely ineffective.

Clutched tightly in the scouts cold, dead, hands were a £50 note, the one probably issued to him to help secure playing staff for the club, along with a barely legible note scribbled in the scouts blood. Composing the note was probably the last act of the scout on this earth. The note read:

"**** you Jenkins, **** you yanks, **** you all to hell"

A player who can't get into our midfield because he is 'so poor', is joining a top 4 team in La Liga who are still in the champions league, whilst we are still stuck with Clucas, Carroll, Fer, Sanchez et al <whistle>
