Well this is getting silly. The Mirror are reporting a Swansea bid for Redmond. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/swansea-transfer-news-nathan-redmond-3060568
This is exactly what I was thinking. By comparative measure, Pilks and Snodgrass are worth at least £7m. The only thing I would say is that we've not really sold anyone on our terms for several years. We did get a very good price for Holt, all things considered.
Charlie Wyett ‏@CharlieWyett Swansea made an enquiry for Norwich's Nathan Redmond last week but were knocked back immediately. No fee discussed
We only got Redmond in august, why do they think we want to get rid of one our regular starters after such a short time?
Zaha, Fabio and Kenwyne Jones all set to join Cardiff, bringing them up to 6 signings in January! How OGS beds them in is going to be interesting.
more to the point, would anyone want any of those 6 new players at carrow road? zaha maybe? not for me - no end product - might as well keep playing redmond as at least he's our player. fabio is abysmal. i cannot believe premier league teams still want him. jones can be a handful on his day but isn't often at the races - he's very average overall. and having chatted to a norwegian about the guys solskjaer has brought with him, i wouldn't want any of them either. i really think cardiff will finish bottom of the table
Yeah, Zaha offers no more than Redmond does, no point him coming here. Don't know a lot about the Norwegian players, so can't comment. PSG have made a formal bid of £14m for Cabaye, hopefully he can have his head turned and "not be in the right frame of mind" for Tuesday.
I suspect we'll go back in for him, probably end up being a deadline day signing. Another signing I'd be ambivalent about. Adds much needed depth, but isn't the player to take us to greater things. If the fee is reasonable then fair enough.
I'd rather us go for a quality right back. Martin as cover at centre back, improve our weakest position and show of faith in what we have at centre back. I think it'll do ryan bennett the world of good, he's been so in and out of the team can't be doing his confidence much good
Problem I have is the one real problem we have doesn't seem to be getting addressed, someone to dictate play still seems light years away under CH.
I think that was an oversight (or the right player wouldn't come) in the summer, and not an easy fix for January. Whilst I'd like to see a midfielder join now, I suspect we'll wait until the summer, then probably spend a reasonable sum, perhaps £7m+ on a central midfielder. How many teams around us though really have a midfielder that makes them tick?
Not seen any definitive date, or even a time frame, anywhere. It seems so odd that what sounded like a fairly innocuous flare-up of back pain has kept him out this long. I guess it's just a case of waiting for it to settle down. I'd like to think we're just keeping it quiet and he'll be back soon, as a surprise for the Newcastle game. Probably wishful thinking though.
I suspect it's far off the mark, but this rumour about Peter Lovenkrand surfaced tonight: http://www.sportsdirectnews.com/nor...norwich-ponder-striker-swoop.php#.UuWLG9LFLEY
