We need a backup striker. A proper goal scorer would be nice.
But the holding midfield is our weakest part of the team.
We have playmakers in Neil and Embleton and Pritchard is starting to show
But we need someone to dominate midfield organise things pick up the second balls and feed the play makers
Too often we allow teams to play and give them confidence
This end to end stuff is entertaining when you win but we need to start dominating games.

Add Evans and enough midfielders?

A striker definitely

Given how our other transfers have performed I think Evans will come good (if he stays fit)
but not convinced by him and Onein.
Can't knock Onein he gives 100% and is a nuisance but he's always chasing the game.
I think if we had a real ball winner to impose himself and sit along side Evans
Win the second ball and break up play before the opposition had a dozen passes it would transform the team

How would you see this player fitting in, a straight replacement for O/9 is my first thought as this is exactly how I would describe him when he is on form, but like quite a few of our key players he hasn't yet produced that form with any consistency, but I still rate his contribution as worthy of his place.

Its a big problem you are highlighting as the formation we play 4/3/3 struggles against better opposition, and so far along with the rest of us LJ seems not to know the answer.

Unfortunately (because I like Onein) If we could get the right player I would replace Onein
He doesn't do anything desperately wrong but the way we play I think we need someone who can step in and break up the play early
As I said far too often we lose the ball and allow the opposition far too much time and space on the ball.
Onein chases the game a lot. Hes often in the right place for last ditch tackles but rarely reads the game and picks up the second ball before the opposition.
There's definitely a place for Onein I might be tempted to swap him with Winchester and see how he does in midfield

100% agree.

I’d like to see us make the German lads permanent and also sign someone with similar attributes to Crooks from Boro.
Unit with ability and goals who can also mix it.
I’d like to see us use Alves in the CDM role in the cup competitions including tonight to see if he can cut it as a temporary measure until January comes around as Evans is missing too many games and 09 isn’t going to be able to play every game with that shoulder problem and his game is suffering.
