Worth remembering that our very successful head of recruitment has since left. I may have missed it,but I haven't seen a replacement? My assumption is that we'll not be doing significant business in January, perhaps a loan, perhaps smaller fees on permanent transfers, unless we shift players of course then it opens up the possibility, but it'll be a low net spend in my opinion.
For next summer, I presume the club will have shortlists for all positions, but assuming we'll be looking to sell high (£40m+) and buy low (£20m or less) for the bulk of our business, it's very conceivable that the players we'll end up buying are not on most peoples radar just yet. For example Talbi had made only 9 first team appearances before last season, might be worth taking a look at which players around Europe are just breaking into their respective teams now, and could be viable targets by the end of the season.
Don't think we've outgrown him. He's exactly the sort of homegrown, talented young player we should be targeting in general. However, the specific circumstances don't quite match up for us or him in the short term.
We could really do with a left footed right winger as many have said. A long term signing really could do with them being hg too ahead of the crunch next summer. Barely any around who fit that bill and are attainable, though.
Correct ^He’s not good enough to play at this level yet for a team who will be battling every game with limited time on the ball imo. Alright going to someone like Chelsea who can rotate him in with arguably world class midfielders like Caicedo and Enzo, there’s no pressure on him then. He’s gone to a worse league than the PL and he’s struggling massively.
I disagree, but fair enough. The problem with Jobe is that he’s misprofiled - perhaps by Dortmund and even his family. You could put him at the base of almost any midfield and he’d underpin it nicely. I’d love him back, although I recognise that it wouldn’t work for us right now. He’s not good enough to play at this level yet for a team who will be battling every game with limited time on the ball imo. Who was it and when did hje leave? Have we got a replacement?Worth remembering that our very successful head of recruitment has since left. I may have missed it,but I haven't seen a replacement?

On Jobe , did a decent job for us last season, but threatened little, and slowed us down, not what we need.

We have to be close to the financial limit imo. Maybe we can sneak Dembele in from Barca but after that I think we are done. Can we afford to spend any more in Jan?
Agree about that being his best position. I think he could excel there actually.I disagree, but fair enough. The problem with Jobe is that he’s misprofiled - perhaps by Dortmund and even his family.
