The Scot paid FC Copenhagen almost £4m to sign Oviedo during his last summer in charge of the Toffees in 2012.
Moyes has already taken a trio of former Everton stars to the Stadium of Light in Steven Pienaar, Victor Anichebe and Joleon Lescott while Jack Rodwell was already there when he arrived.
