It’s fair enough to call Gelhardt unproven IMO. I don’t think it’s relevant but it’s fair.

Saying that we only have one striker because of them not planning for Stewart’s injury is a bit counter intuitive tho. Clearly the plan was to have 3. Everton being Everton and Stewart’s Achilles have seen us have 1. And no doubt they’re trying hard to put that right now.

Like I’ve said, I like Speakman, and I’ve said that I think he’s doing a good job. I just think we should have done more to ensure we don’t go into the latter half of the season with only Gelhardt.

They have played a blinder since coming in, taken us from League 1 to the top half of the championship - have recruited a squad of exciting youngsters who play unreal football

If you’d read my posts, you’ll see that I agree with you and I’m not slating our recruitment as a whole, just this situation could have been planned better.

this is the point tho. You don’t know how much has been done. How can you say they should do more when for all any of us know; they’ve been working 24/7 to get somebody

this is the point tho. You don’t know how much has been done. How can you say they should do more when for all any of us know; they’ve been working 24/7 to get somebody

And I hope that is the case, and that we pull a rabbit out the hat before the deadline. But it looks to me like we’ve hung out for Simms which might now not happen.

we can’t know that tho. There’s been nothing to suggest we are even seeing simms as a possibility today other than us on forums seeing it as the obvious option.

It's also fair to say he's played at a higher level than Stewart

Some people seem to ignore everything good about the club and only put down their computer games when it's the window and time to attack the club.

Aye that's what is annoying me the most. I scout for a team and while I am not involved in the recruitment as such I know how hard it is and most importantly how hard the guys in the recruitment team work.

Speakman etc will have been working non stop this transfer window to improve the squad. We have signed 3 exciting players permanently and got a great loan signing in

Of course we need a striker but I know they'll be working so hard to bring someone in so if no1 signs it wont be for a lack of trying or planning
