Be interesting how many we go for. At the start of the window I was expecting 2 forwards and a cm at most.
Assuming no outgoings I reckon we'll be in for a CM and 2 forward players, maybe one who can play wide

If Wright goes, then we'll need a replacement (or his departure may be forced by us signing a CB)

A good window for me might even include getting no one in.

I mean by that, that the days of filling up dressing room pegs with whoever might turn up for a wage look over, and we are now signing players we really need, who want to come, and for sensible fees and wages.

That's the way we seem to be heading and it suits me. I doubt very much it will be none, but none would be better than just a couple of peg fillers.

100%

No incomings and no net outgoings would be absolutely fine for me.

And by that I mean Simms returning on loan.

The reason I'd be happy bringing nobody new in whatsoever (other than Simms or a.n.other) up front, as long as nobody leaves, is because of how this team are blossoming.

Seriously if Neil, Michut and Ba get another 5 months of regular first team football, they will all likely be better than anybody else we can bring in now.

And Evans' replacement for next season, for my money, is already at the club, albeit on holiday in Devon.

It's why if Ekwah comes, I'm relaxed that it's a loan. As he'd purely be covering for Matete.

I watched Giay earlier today, the RB we have been linked with. I would be very happy with him like. Solid defensively, looks to pass forward quickly, plays through the lines really well and he has good pace & physicality. He tended to tuck in as a RCB when Argentina were attacking which was strange as when he did get forward he was good - he's a powerful runner with the ball at his feet. He did lack a bit of creativity in the final 3rd on the occasions when he did get there but that should come with experience. There were quite a few good players on show so fully expect we have a scout watching the U20 tournament over there, Diego Gomez looks a great young CB that we should be looking at.

Giay is a really good prospect and he would def improve us long term if we were to sign him

That sounds very promising.
Thanks for posting your report mate.

Lampard is using Simms as a future excuse in the same way Bruce used to do ...

... 'Things were so bad at Everton I had to bring a kid back from a loan to a lower league club and play him in the first team'.

It's pathetic and typical of the likes of Lampard.

Not sure it’s really Lampards fault, the clubs an absolute ****show at the minute he’s just another scapegoat there.

He went in claiming he'd do a better job than previous managers and has taken Everton lower than any of them ...

... there's no way that this group of players is the worst in the PL.

That Everton team on paper should be way higher than they currently are. Anyone with half a brain will get them up the league.
