There are a lot of Patterson haters, I guess they will never change their mind. I just hope he realises there are also a lot of fans who support him.

A lot of haters? I havnt seen many at all. There has only been Jon McLaughlin I've had trust in since the season before we got relegated from the Premiership until now. I thought he handled Wembley superb. His shot stopping is great. God, he's only young. He'll play for England one day.

I’m not half as nervous watching him as I was at the start of the season, the commanding of his area etc will come with time
Agreed. His development in the last 12 months has been marked. The young lad who got bullied by Wycombe this time last year is a distant memory. He is without a doubt a work in progress, but he's improving all the time

Definitely. It’s not a coincidence that we rarely score from corners and always look like conceding from them. And it’s something we need to work on as a defence, not just Patto. But at the same time GK’s seem to be very protected and more often than not when they come for the ball if there’s contact from an opposition player it’s given as a free kick. Granted we’ve had more than our fair share of injuries but it’s another reason why I’d prefer Ballard to O’nein to play alongside Bathh. We’ve got a small squad as it is I think 2 towering centre backs are a must for us. When the time comes I’d like to see us replace Evans with a taller holding midfielder. Rodri, Fabinho, Busquets - all big strong players that are like having another centre back in the box on set pieces. Even Partey and Casemiro are still 6’1.

Yep... TM has muttered several times about lack of height and physicality in the team. 3 weeks to go to correct it.

In Rugby, it is well known that when a player jumps for a high ball with his arms raised above his head, he is leaving his ribs open to get smashed with a big hit. That is why they often jump with one knee raised for protection.

Whilst the parallel to football is not 100%, an elbow in the keepers ribs is or jumping into him is unknown. Actually its a well known tactic to rough the keeper up and slow his reactions. Refs of course are aware of this.

The family are staunch black and whites. I work with his uncle but his mam and dad just want him to play football and progress. Only thing as we all know is money talks and them lot up the road have a lot of it now.

Same situation with my cousin's granddaughter. Her parents are smoggies, but she's been at the Sunderland girls team for a few years now. When it's your kids future career that's at stake, the team you support has to take second place in the priorities.

Luke's lane actually. His dad also called Christopher played in the same team as my nephew a few years ago
I know Christopher. Hes my age. He was a bit of a daft lad back in the day.
