Don’t massively rate Simms and Surridge is decent but he’s no RS.

Whoever we bring in, I’ll be devastated if Stewart leaves the club. He’s a class act, I want to keep our best players.
Simms is decent but still learning. I wonder how good Stewart was at that age. Saying “he’s no Ross Stewart” can be saud about most in this division. Would you swap him for any other striker in the Championship? I certainly wouldn’t

Really? A goal every 87 minutes for Forest last season and all I can see on Twitter is praise from Forest fans
I stats second half of last season good. Beyond that much less so. Stats are a small part of a story though I think. As for twitter the lads I drink with and are Forest mad wouldnt have any idea on Twitter - they are of an era<laugh>

Only signed for them in Jan mate. Was at Stoke first half of the season. Forest were flying when he landed under Cooper. They had another CF who I cant remember who was a beast, on loan I think, always looked the main man and Surridge played around him.
Davis wasn’t it? Lad that scored for Watford against us earlier in the season

That'll be why I didn't see much of him at Forest if he was at Stoke first <laugh>.

Interesting though that Cooper wanted him when he got them playing a more attacking brand of football, I trust us to have done our homework and he would suit our style.

I trust us too mate. Just passing an opinion. I feel guilty doing it because the clubs record is good and I support every player we have. Wouldnt be much fun though if we didnt have a bit of critique on linked players from time to time though eh.

Scored 7 in 11 starts in a promotion winning side last season. Underwhelming before that but Stewart's career was as well.
Just having a look at that. Interesting his stats and style of play are very similar to Stewart when he was at Ross County.
Presses well and creates chances but not a massive return.
Have never really seen him play but if we are in for him then we have done our homework and think we can develop him.
Similar stature to Simms and a similar goal return. So could be a good like for like replacement.
We need some physicality in the team.

A point that's often overlooked. Simms last season (aged 20) had a season in Scotland that was about comparable (from a goalscoring perspective) as anything Stewart did up there and he played there until he was 24. I don't think they're similar strikers mind, and I'm not suggesting that Simms will be better than Stewart. What I would say for certain though is that no-one was predicting that Ross Stewart would be a £10-20m player, even 18 months ago.

We need to trust the recruitment team and be patient, whatever happens.

I do forget how young Simms is. While I don't think he could be the main striker right now he could be in a year or two. I would like to think we are keeping in touch!

Aye, but Chilean midgets are hard as ****! Tell Arturo Vidal or Gary Medel that they're midgets and see what happens <laugh>

Interestingly, this is the 2nd Chilean midfielder we've been linked with after Alarcon.
Hahaha would be too scared to even say hello to those two!

Shame really, I'd have rather we owned Valladolid but I'll settle for a midfielder <laugh>

The content of the article says **** all about him signing though, i's just a rehash of other articles saying we're looking at him.
I've no idea what it's on about <laugh>
Someone typed it with their face then put it through Google translate I think <laugh>

I know we have confidence in our recruitment team, and I am all in on that. I have to say though that Surridge is somewhat underwhelming. I havent seen much to recommend him personally. A couple of Forest fans I know arent keen. He doesnt seem to have made a big impression anywhere, and his overall record in the championship hasnt been sparkling really. Maybe he is another, like Roberts, the club think has lost his way and needs a home. Perhaps that is true. He was highly regarded as a youngster I think so maybe there is a player in there. For me though, like I say, not one that immediately gets my excitement levels up.
Just watched one of his games from earlier in the season, here's my thoughts:
Good link up play, good 1st touch and protects the ball well when its played into him. Took his goals well - a little lucky with the 2nd as felt he could have placed it rather than smashing it. Drifts wide at times to find space which he did well and he worked hard throughout.

His movement in the box could have been better, he plays between CBs but doesn't get across them enough for tap ins etc. He doesn't stretch the game, prefers it into feet, would of like to see him run in behind more to mix his game up.

I would def take him, only 24 and got his best yrs ahead of him - according to wyscout he's 6ft 3 so good size as well

Nice one mate. Trust your judgement, along with every bugger on here. If he comes we will build it, or something like that anyway <laugh>

I am not trying to be a negative bugger. I am just an opinionated arse.
