True. I mean the initial ceiling maybe just that. Initial. I would imagine there was and possible still is the feeling of the unknown. Paying out the big bucks early doors to then go back into league 1 would end it tears for us all.

If there is consolidation and a pattern of progression, maybe the ceiling moves up.

If my agent talked to the media about the private terms in my contract, I would sack the twat on the spot

100% Patterson is on more then 700 quid rest you might be right about
 
That's interesting if it's right mind. Especially when you factor in what will be some very big salaries at Watford, Sheff Utd, Norwich, Burnley and West Brom.
I obviously don't know that for certain, but it's a best guess from various resources that understand football finance far better than me.

I'd assume that average doesn't include the Parachute Payment clubs
