Not just on here mate. Some peo0e outside of this board too.

They think we should be paying him premier league wages. I’m just happy with the progress we, as a club, have made since KLD took over. Great to watch, proper business model with little risk factors. Keep it going is all I say
If Patto is on £700 you can cancel your happiness for the foreseeable future mate.

I agree some of the numbers make no sense. Point I’m making is we can’t pay people the 70k a week some seem to demand we should pay Stewart!!
Senior Nurses are on more than Patto apparently and they’re going on strike!!

My friend employs cleaners here for £18.50 an hour + all meals and all travel expenses works out around £850 a week, Patto is in the wrong job.

Sustainability is one thing but we aren't going to retain many decent players for very long if the wage ceiling is 10k, local lads possibly for a bit longer but that's it.

I'd also be very surprised if the likes of Clarke and Ballard are on less than 10K.

From my understanding they are. No player that we own are into double figures. But that's only my post. I think that's why we will get the younger players with hunger to play but agreements they can move onto bigger contracts in the PL if it works out.

Maybe wrong but that's what I was told at the start of the year.

That said, I am not an accountant and it doesn't interest me. Fan as a priority , so want to see the best players possible , playing the best football. We seem to be doing ok, but we are on a cusp of questioning our equilibrium IMO. Tilt the scales to keep best players and re invest or stick to plan. Be interesting.

Patto that signed a new deal in the summer? Signed a.long term deal for £700 a week?

He needs a new agent

If Patterson signed a new deal in the summer, and tbh I don't keep up, then in no imaginable world is he on £700 a week. I'd say a 0 on the end of that would sound reasonable.

Clearly if that is right and not just a mistake, we are punching well obove top half of League One level .

Most on here think we are a massive club, we are as a fan base and as a building structure i have followed these everywhere since I was a young Un, we are going through a massive restructuring process, but if we don't get it right we will go back years, this new model will take 4 years to iron out, the fans want it done instantly.
But they want KLD to chuck his own money at it, he will not.
Does anyone know how much he got on Dec 21st as a trust payment ????.
Scary.

I get that we are building something good and I certainly don't want to do what some clubs have done and gambled loads of cash on getting to the premier league without thinking about the future. As tempting as it would be to have KLD throw his cash at the club that will probably end in the club going bust in 5-10 years.

It just sounds like the wage structure may be too restrictive for where we are now if we want to push on from here, otherwise we will just float along in the Championship as a feeder club.

Yeah we need to be realistic, I mean we just got promoted from the abyss but look at what we have achieved already? One of the most exciting teams in the league with one of the best strikers, surely it is worth a small push to see where we can get to before Stewart inevitably moves onto a bigger club?

An extra £10K a week is half a million a year...the alternative is sign an unknown striker for more than that and hope he is as good. I'm no accountant but thats a no brainer for me.

All fair enough like. But if £10k is the max we pay, then very clearly Stewart and others, when it comes to their time, will be off.

What that means, how long it will last, whether it can be changed, how far it can rake a club, is all to be seen. And as you say, interesting.

But aside from the recently relegated clubs, I'd imagine the turnover here is at least competitive with most others, and probably better than most, though we haven't sold any players for profit in a good while.

Time will tell and all that. But the awful truth is, and it's a genuine paradox, that though we all obviously want to win every game, the idea of playing in the PL is bloody ghastly. It is so obviously bent beyond redemption.

Very happy to stay in the Championship <ok>

anyone who believes that our top earners are not on a decent 5 figure sums per week, or that patterson is playing for peanuts is simply deluded.

Look at what we are paying Patterson our No1 keeper, £700 + clean sheet money, Fing darlo pay that
That because he was basically on an u23 contract when he broke in to the first team, then they gave him a new contract.
Your numbers sound spot on the Stewart was on 3000 in league 1 then went up to 8700 when we got promoted however trying to offer 1000 increase to get probably the best striker in the league seems slightly strange that's probably why people are questioning it

True. I mean the initial ceiling maybe just that. Initial. I would imagine there was and possible still is the feeling of the unknown. Paying out the big bucks early doors to then go back into league 1 would end it tears for us all.

If there is consolidation and a pattern of progression, maybe the ceiling moves up.

We have just come from league 1 mate. We were not paying 10k plus a week wages to anyone.

The challange will be to retain our best players on certain salaries or when we go into the market to recruit players experienced at this current or a higher level.
