think it’s a combo of poor deliveries and awful set up in the box. Nobody attacks the ball. We all stand edge of 6 yard box. So easy to defend

We need to be more creative at set pieces, we continue to just lump the ball into the box

Good post that but personally I think we may drop like a stone if we lose Stewart, he brings the wingers into play and occupies defenders in a way that nobody else at the club can…and not many other strikers I have seen this season for that matter.

He will cost an absolute fortune to replace with someone similar. Especially now that Simms seems to have been recalled by Lampard in an act of sheer desperation.

Obviously that’s just my opinion and I hope I’m wrong!

To be brutally honest I am not Simms biggest fan. His touch that led to their goal last night sums up my concerns about him, he hasnt yet got some of the basics sound. He has pluses and has played his part, but I think if he goes back we can do better than him.

As for Broadhead I would take him in a shot. Some of his play last year for us was class and I think he has more than enough to impact games in the championship. He is quick, can go past a man, great first touch and can finish. I would take him perm no bother and would bet there is plenty of improvement to come. If it were Simms out and Broadhead in I would be happy. Remember the club wanted him in the summer so they clearly thought 6 months ago he was a good fit. As for whether he bottled it, well only the whining Alex Neil put that out for people to think, so I doubt there is any truth in it.

We need 3 strikers still. So one more loanee would be needed.

I'm not an expert, but I am fairly sure somewhere in the world there is at least 1 striker that could replace him.

He's very good, no doubt, but irreplaceable is a bit to much imo

I'm not an expert, but I am fairly sure somewhere in the world there is at least 1 striker that could replace him.

He's very good, no doubt, but irreplaceable is a bit to much imo

1 that we could afford?
1 that would come?
1 who'd score the same goals
1 who would hold up the play?

We might get 1 one those but not all 4. Therefore, yes, irreplaceable in our current circumstances, to our club, irreplaceable.

I like what I've seen of Keane but he'd cost a few mill, is 30 next month and this is his first season of double figures in the Championship. He's playing regular football, I don't think he'd want to be a back up.

Looks very busy at that level but I've not seen the sort of technical quality required for the step up imo

What happens if he decides he hates football and retires tomorrow? Do we just fold as a club as we can't possibly replace him?

We only have 1 striker and Wigan are in the ****. I don't know what contract he's on but he could certainly do a job for us for 18 months

I don't have a problem with us breaking the model for the right players. But for what he would cost, I'd imagine there are other players who fit the model and would offer more.
