Agreed. You look at the permanent signings we have made since KLD assumed control and there are only 1 or 2 who were unsuccessful - Defoe and Dajaku spring to mind:Our recruitment has been an absolute revelation lately. Considering the dross we have signed and money we have wasted over the last few years.
They will get a few wrong. But the change in such a short time is remarkable

I wonder if any thought is being given as to when Stewart will return, weighing up the January transfer window?
Presumably buyers will be more interested if he is fit and well and banging in goals?
If his return is delayed...a January transfer could be ruled out/bids could be too low.
If he returns in the next week or so and bangs a few goals in, his price in January would go up?
Time will tell!
I can see him going out on loan. Club won’t give up on him yet imoHope so. Kid isn't up to it and he has a courage rating of -10

I don’t think it’s a case of Stewart wanting away. It’ll be a case of him and his agents exploring his options. Similar to what O’Nien did last summer and probably similar to what all agents do all the time. It just only gets highlighted when it’s a player in demand.
I still reckon he might stay. But if a club offers good money for him I’d be fully behind the club deciding to cash in if he indicates he wants to make the move.
If Stewart were to go, which id hate him to but being realistic, I’d love us to put a bid in for Coventrys Swedish striker.
Maybe he wants to get the **** out of Coventry.

Another winger.
if not treble or quadruple. We have to be realistic about where we are as a club. If a player doesn't fit into the much fabled model, then we take the profit and move on. I just hope we don't accept anything less than £10m for him,Our wage structure won't allow us to come close to what Everton are offering him, if he goes there he'll double his wages overnight.
If we are going to sell then we should do it in January imo. Get a better price.
If the club feel or get behind the scenes vibes he has no real desire to extend his stay with us then I believe we will be willing sellers.
I hope the club and the player/agent can have a sensible conversation. By all means do a deal with Everton/Rangers but he stays our player until the summer. No way is January going to be the best price we will get for him, coming back from injury having inly played 7 games or whatever it is at this level. Finish the season prove he is recovered from his injury and do it more.at this level along with the club activating his year extension and he will go up in the summer.
Only way he is worth more in January is if he downs tools after window closes in a tantrum at not getting to leave.

This! The way we've managed our player dealings since KLD arrived has been excellent by and large....a couple of mistakes, but that's always going to happen.
The notion that some have that we're going to get our pants taken down, as we used to, on transfers, is just not credible. I'm confident that if and when anyone goes,it will be for the benefit of the club and the player. One of the huge differences between now and the dark past is that the football world knows that transfers, and loans, of players in and out of Sunderland will be managed properly.
