It’s a manageable debt, like a mortgage. Have Man Utd beenheld back by the huge debt they took on?

It’ll only be an issue if the owner chooses to take every penny out the club.

Or if we get relegated, at which point the investment will be about £100m underwater.

Two points, manageable by paying probably around 6% interest on the loan annually which impacts on the funds available for transfers and I won’t mention how manageable the debt will be if we get relegated

Selection of PL players seemingly getting little or no PL football so far this season:

Defoe, Mings, Surman, Elneny, Jenkinson, Locadia, Cahill, Christensen, Moses, Drinkwater, Loftus Cheek, Zappacosta, Jagielka, McCarthy, Niasse, Schneiderlin, Okazaki, Simpson, Silva, Clyne, Origi, Moreno, Sturridge, Zinchenko, Rojo, Nkoudou, Wanyama, Llorente, Britos, Gray, Okaka, Prodl, Carroll, Hernandez

(Not saying they'd all be available, mind)
Can we have schneiderlin and wanyama back please?!

Even giving them away would save, I dunno, £13m or more a year in wages.

But the teams who would want them aren't going to pay their current wages. They must all be on £50k+ a week and I can't see any PL teams wanting them, and I can't see any Championship teams who could pay that wanting them either.

Quite possible, though I could see Long or Austin going to a PL squad looking for cheap experience, perhaps in the summer. Now, it might still be advantageous for the likes of Long, Austin or Davis to take a pay cut; Davis' contract expires after this season, Long/Austin after next, and at their ages there's some incentive to try to get a longer-term deal with more opportunity. Forster is another story entirely, given that we're stuck with him for another three years after this one.

It's definitely a problem, though. we may have to just wait them out, but that presumes that we won't add more awful contracts in the interim (and that we'll survive two PL seasons).
