He's very much a bench warmer at Stoke, but he does get regular game time. My gut feeling is he wouldn't drop the division for anyone, but if Pulis tells him to move on maybe the increasing likelyhood we will be PL next season might see him come back.
Not what I was intending to imply tbh. I was comparing Rudy as a sub v Eti. I can't imagine Eti being a towering presense at the front post whilst defending in the last few moments under the cosh. Whereas despite a few scary attempted tackles from Rudy he is definitely an asset defending set plays.
I don't see us buying anyone this Jan, maybe a loanee or so. I see Jay has returned to QPR, Harry would probably let him out on loan again and I think his ego has been all but battered out from him since his England game, what do you think, could he still do a job for us, would he be prepared to work under Malky even more so, would Malky be prepared to work with him. Personally I think that Rudy wouldn't get a look in with an on-song Jay in the team, I realise he didn't exactly shine at Sheffield but our players are just a tad better.
If Jay was our only option I would rather take our chance with the existing squad. Thanks but no thanks.
Twitter rumour SloveniaFooty ‏@sloveniafooty Few English clubs interested in Robert Berić according to Italian media. Spurs, AVFC, NCFC, CCFC and LCFC. Cardiff City most interested... Striker from Maribor?? Rings a bell doesnt it??
Transfer Rumours‏@FootieNews2day Marvin Sordell of Bolton to hold talks with Cardiff City. He would then be re-united with former manager Malky Mackay whilst at Watford!
Hmmm, hope I'm wrong but looks less likely a striker is on the cards http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/20908171
Sussex - Fairy tale endings are pretty rare outside pantomimes. The last thing we need at City right now is a pantomime! Remember, Cinderella only went to the ball, she didn't bloody score with it!..........
I wonder what Sordell would be valued at? Him, Maynard, Bellers have the look of a strikeforce that could score PL goals. Could just be typical 2+2 = whatever the journo wants though.
Sordell would be a useful addition as long as the price wasn't silly. They paid £3.5m a year ago and he has done little for them. Should be a discount on that so £2m to £2.5m would be about right. Still, just media talk for now and there is plenty of that. Weare being associated with most players in the £2m to £4m bracket.
Malky has just gone on record that Earnie will not figure again for Cardiff. Apparently he was sent back by Maccabi and not called back, nor was it Earnie's choice.
2 goals in 9 appearances, so hardly prolific form for him in Israel...he needs to move on this Jan, reduce our wages and see out his career somewhere where he won't be in the reserves IMO... Thanks for the memories Earnie!
Never mind Earnie, there was some good news buried at the bottom of the BBC article about him: - "Meanwhile, defender Ben Nugent has signed a new three and a half year contract with the club. The deal will keep the 20-year-old at the Cardiff City Stadium until the summer of 2016." Excellent to have another rising star committed to the club for a further 3 1/2 years.
That would need me to read it 3 times already, as the article started as Earnie coming home, then became but Malky doesn't want him and now has that little unrelated nugget hidden at the end...! Good news indeed!
