Rumours going round that Messi has expressed his desire to join the reds on a 10 year contract. Sources close to the player have stated that he's a boyhood Liverpool fan, and now Downing has departed from the reds he know he has a chance to get in to the first eleven.
No idea who we'll get (if anyone), but would love us to do what we did last Jan, get our business in early and ignore the idiots and Jim White on Deadline day.

So many ****er signs, did make me chuckle at first I must say.
Well by the state of some of the signings that were made - and others that weren't - I'm not listening to ANY of the pundits because they KNOW less than me!!
I was listening to 5 Live last night. For the first time in years their 'know nothings' were actually saying things like "Liverpool have improved", "Liverpool look strong". On top of that, one comic angle on the Suarez thing was the change of attitude regarding his skill. From "he's good - but not that good" to "he's one of only a few truly worldclass players in the Prem". You have to laugh don't you!

There won't be much more. We may look to bring one more in and we're just waiting on the go-ahead for that from the other club, but apart from that we did a lot of work early and haven't tried to leave it all to this mad day which sees the whole of football go berserk. We've tried to be controlled and get the players in as early as we possibly could. It means I can go and enjoy a nice evening at the Bill Shankly dinner and look forward to seeing some of the great players of the past and some members of Bill's family. It should be a good evening with all the signings done.

That Ya-More-Be-There fella from Kiev looks decent, if he doesn't sign a new deal by Jan he'll only have 6 months left, sure we could pick him up cheap enough.
Also, Ever Benega from Valencia could be an option, they (Valencia) always appear to be in perpetual financial crisis, he'd be decent and hopefully cheap enough backup to Lucas.
Thinking further ahead, if Suarez does leave for big bucks, use that money to bring in two quality forwards (assuming we don't lose anymore key players) and that will be a decent squad!
