The post is about 99.9% likely to be BS so wouldn't take too much notice of it Just keeping things ticking over
Arsenal have been linked with a possible move for Liverpool defender Glen Johnson. The Reds' right-back turns 30 this year and has less than 2 years remaining on his contract but Liverpool won't be offering him a new, highly lucrative deal. With a weekly wage in excess of £110,000-a-week, the defender is one of the highest paid full-backs in the world. While boss Brendan Rodgers would like to see the player retained, any extension would have to show a significant reduction in his salary. KOPTALK sources claim that the Johnson camp have indicated that he is in no rush to sign a new deal with the club because he knows he can secure a deal elsewhere on similar terms, without having to take a pay cut. Arsenal have been monitoring the situation for a while and according to chatter doing the rounds today, they've started to sound out the player's agent.Real Madrid have also been linked.
Can't see him going to either. We'd want big money, especially if we were to sell to Arsenal and they wouldn't pay that for a 30 year old full back. Madrid could do a hell of a lot better as well.
In the Wider world: Lacina Traore has moved to Monaco. Anyone think Falaco is inching closer to the Chavs? Robert Lewandowski has also agreed a move to Munich in July
Haha, who the **** would give Johnson 110k a week? He's crap and has been for at least the last year. If he believes he can get an equal or better deal elsewhere, great. Do one
Moved to? He's been there all season hasn't he as they're quoting about a possible loan move to West Ham.
"On 4 January 2014, Traoré signed a 4.5-year contract with Monaco" Don't know about a loan, unless they are buying and then loaning straight out.
Looks like they've signed him and are loaning him out straight away then. http://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/2892...-set-for-west-ham-medical-work-permit-hearing
Carroll & Traore upfront for West Ham together.... Perfect combo for free flowing football. Or possibly a big whack upfront to the 2 big men Be **** scared from every set piece when we play them though
Real Madrid linked with GJ, don't make me laugh, what's he going to do, clean the team bogs? Arsenal can have him for a pound as long as he's contracted to be first pick every match.
i wouldn't be that bothered about the fee we could get for him, but get those ridiculous unjustified wages off our books asap. sell him for £5 mill for all i care, those wages must be ****ing us up getting in better players surely.
It's a weird feeling.. Being happy about the proposal of selling one of our first teamers to Arsenal.
We need to replace him before we go and sell him. Wouldn't be happy having Kelly & Flanagan are our 1st and 2nd choice RB's. Certainly wouldn't be selling any players in Jan, especially those in an area we are weak who is versatile and can play on either side. Jan isn't the time to start splitting up your squad, it's a time to add to it. If we sold hi now we'd have to sign 2 RB's one that could go straight into the team and be an improvement. That is very risky business. Keep him until the summer and see what happens, if someone comes in with a decent enough offer then he can go, otherwise he'll only have 1 year left and we can let him run down the contract and gives us another year of bedding in a new right back while still having him as an option.
Sell him in the summer let Kelly and Wisdom fight for the spot next season, Flanno as back up no need to sign another right back then. Spend the money on a top left back instead
Kelly & Wisdom aren't RB's, and certainly at the moment are top 4 quality. They're doing a job because we're so well stocked for central defenders and as young players, making a mistake at RB is less of a problem then making one at CB. Flannagan has played alright but still not convinced he'd a long term solution either. Of all our full backs, Enrique is our best so find it strange you'd want to buy a top quality one there and not on the right hand side?
