I'm sure I heard somewhere that Sir Alex was considering a loan spell for Darren Fletcher

The only thing I could find though was a story about him and the Old Trafford pitch -


"Scotland international Fletcher has been a notable absentee during United's packed festive programme. After battling back to fitness after being struck down by a chronic bowel condition, Fletcher was involved in four matches in the space of a fortnight at the end of last month.

However, he was on the pitch for just a minute of United's festive campaign, being introduced as a late substitute in the Boxing Day win over Newcastle. And the reason, according to Ferguson, lies in a surface he says has simply "collapsed". "The pitches over the last few weeks have not suited Darren," Ferguson said. "They are really heavy pitches. Unfortunately, Old Trafford seems to have collapsed in the last two weeks."


We seeem to be on good terms with Alex, so would it be worth a punt trying to get him on loan?


PS Also worth noting the state of the pitch when it comes to team selection for that Cup tie !!

Fair enough, and yes I'd pegged him as someone who likes to throw things in to cause trouble between you and us. That may well be why all of us were ignoring him, whereas your name-calling was exactly the response he was trying to provoke. And, to be fair, he was talking about the same player, it's just that you didn't like what he was saying about him. While I'm on it, you were the one who got personal and started throwing insults about, first towards Bidley then towards our mutual Chelsea friend. But if you want to talk football rather than try to score cheap points against people or get insulting, that's all good.
 
Gossip is saying that one of the hottest properties in USA soccer Brek Shea is
heading to the premiership,alas not us I am afraid, it appears Everton, Stoke, W Ham,
& Spurs, amongst the chasing clubs. Could he be another Brian Mc Bride,or Demps.

Nothing would be done. Harry is the media's darling. He did the same thing with Odemwingie at West Brom. Odemwingie has now handed in a transfer request to push through the move. Absolutely shocking.
 
All sorts of rumours about Maarten Skelenburg, not least because of David Stockdale's loan. However it appears that Skelenburg's agent is playing hard ball -

lt might be a long wait before any concrete news.
 
You get the impression that a lot of the deals to be done in January will be done near the end, what with clubs/agents holding out for better deals elsewhere... Not ideal for many of the parties involved, really.

This is certainly true. Clubs in countries are well aware of the forthcoming increase in Premiership TV revenue and are consequently consistently moving the goal posts. I have no doubt this happened with Boateng in August and is happening again now.

He's a prospect, Bidley. He's a creative central midfielder who came to Bournemouth from non-league two or three years ago (he's 23). He's worked his way into the side in that time, so he's got 70 or so games under his belt. If we signed him, I suspect he'd be someone for the fringe of the first team - sub appearances, makybe the occasional start to see if he can prove himself. He's the kind of signing that might turn out to be bargain future star, or who might turn out to be nothing more than a fringe signing. I think players of his age and experience give the best chance of getting someone really good without paying ridiculous money. He's got 10 goals in his 70 odd games (I think), which is a reasonable return without being spectacular.

Captain, would you really regard someone who is 23 to be a 'prospect' or 'future star'?
 
Must agree Bandit,,by all means buy him if the cost is minimal but lets not throw money around,
if he looked such a great prospect,he would have been higher up the pecking order by now, (club wise)
