We are always linked with Dutch 'rising stars'. Elia, Van Wolfswinkle, De Jong. But the only one we ever actually signed was Ryan Babel.
Morning reports suggest that Torres is unhappy at Chelsea and wants a return to Liverpool. He's apparently available for no more than £15 million.
I made the mistake of watching all of his LFC goals on YouTube last night. Say what you want about him but he's still one of the best players I have ever seen for Liverpool and is one of my favourite players. Would I take him back? Based on current form - no. But something (instinct) tells me that he would relish the opportunity to come back and we can see the best of him once more. He was made for LFC.
Liverpool can afford real players. Everton once couldn't afford Tommy Mooney...who was available on a free transfer. It was also to do with Betty Hotpots bastard son being potless.
Ya, but to be fair though not everyone is a finished article at the time and I think that was around the time we got Ngog?
Yeah, Bony has probably improved 10 fold since then. He does look like a capable striker - wouldn't mind him! Rumours are surfacing again re. Torres - apparently he's asked Chelsea if he can move to LFC and Rodgers is keen on the idea ...
I'd take hm back. Finally get to see the Suarez-Torres partnership? You mean Gerrard has more options than one to link up with?!?!?!
I have a sneaky feeling we might go in for Charlie Austin. Don't know why, just think we might take a punt on him.
A lot of people wouldn't share your views but I do - if we had the chance to get him back (at a reasonable price), then I would take him. Personally, I don't think he has lost it. He is short of confidence and something tells me that he would regain that composure and instinct at Anfield.
I wouldn't mind him as a second signing/second option but I would hope that he isn't the premier signing that will get us the goals.
If we had a striker at the club I would be completely against the return of Torres but since we clearly need someone to score goals, maybe? The price would have to be right (under £10m). However, in reality, he is 29 and seems to have had his best years. He wouldn't be less than £15m and I don't think he would fit into Rodgers' plans.
