Maybe when you bring sentiment in it, then there's potential for Torres to come back and score goals for us like he did previously. And I think that's how I'd feel about getting Torres back, that he's still able to be a clinical striker like he was for us under Benitez. But from a logical point of view he has scored 19 goals in 85 games for Chelsea and has looked lazy & disinterested even though Chelsea have done everything to get the best out of him including shifting Drogba on and building the formation around him and changing the whole clubs philosophy really just to suit his game better. And still he's looked average at most times. Would we be happy to see the club pay £15m for a 29 year old striker with that kind of record if it wasn't Torres? I highly doubt it, and despite how interesting it would be to see how he'd do if he came back here, I've got to say I think its time for us to pursue other options now and forget about Torres. There's younger & better players out there, unfortunately for him.
Beggers can't be choosers. It will be interesting though. Are any of these names that we keep getting linked with true or are we going to have another Assaidi, aka "Who?Wtf?When? How?"
Lucasss... Thats pretty much what I wanted to say but couldn't be arsed to do it on my phone Bluff... You can always be choosy. Not being picky got us in the mess we are in!!!
Supposedly some transfer news is going to break very soon. Supposedly gonna be in the Liverpool post tomorrow and Rory smith of the times is tweeting not good news for Liverpool fans
My predictions are one of these possibilities: - New contract for Walcott at Arsenal. - New contract for Huntelaar at Schalke. - Owners not freeing up as much cash as originally thought. I think its to early to have any new of actually transfers.
Hmm I cant see that happening. They already have Silva, Nasri, Teves and Aguero as a front four. Plus Balotelli and dzeko. Also a central part to Brenden Rodgers plans. Suarez has to much passion for Liverpool, and he is to big an asset to us. He is a
I think Balotelli will be going I think Mancini has just had enough of his antics they tried for Van Persie in the summer with all of them already there. I could see them wanting him but whether we would sell him to them is another thing.
I'm not sure. I don't see Rodgers selling because that false nine spot is key to his system and Suarez is brilliant in that role. However, £40m is a lot of cash and would enable us to buy two or three players to improve the team/squad. Would I sell to for Man City for £40m...? Absolutely not! £50m or more...? Thank you, here's your receipt
Suarez is going no where. Rodgers wont allow it, the players wont allow it, the fans wont allow it, the club wont allow it, Suarez wont want it. Financially we are not in any position where we need to sell our best assets either.
Rodgers will have the funds to sign the two players he wants any way. I would turn down £75million. Suarez is that important and is really passionate about the club. Selling him for financial gain would be an insult to him. Plus selling a teams best assets is not the way to build a brighter future. We need to add players.
This is true but what if we don't have much to spend? A silly offer for Suarez could give us the loot to improve. Aka...Newcastle selling Carroll
But remember it is not garunteed that these world class players will sign for us with out Champions League. I think having Suarez as a team ate adds to the things that could attract players to Liverpool. It is also clear that Suarez is driven by a love for the club. You dont see enough of that from modern footballers.
Answer these three questions: 1) Would you sell Suarez for £1? 2) Would you sell Suarez for £1b? 3) Is there a point between the two that these meet? Every player has a price no matter how important they are and no player is bigger than the club. Rodgers will do what is best for Liverpool Football Club! PS...if you say you wouldn't sell him for £1b then your full of ****
Again, you are right but we signed Suarez without CL football. I don't want us to sell him but I am honest and realistic enough to see it could benefit the club in the longer term.
Sure £1b would go a long way, but it is not a realistic figure, and would also break financial fair play. Selling Torres for £50million didnt get us very far. Suarez would have signed whether Torres left or not. Thinking about it, maybe we would have been better off keeping Torres and pairing him with Suarez.
