And as I said, Ranocchia had 1 outstanding season at Bari. Ever since then people have thought he might come good.

The one possible saving grace is I and many other Inter fans said all this about Coutinho. We were delighted when he left and we couldn't believe the club got 7m euro for him...
If he's so bad it's odd that Bilic, Silva and others have shown interest. It's also hard to believe that the Italians allowed a gash defender to play 21 times for the national team (English managers maybe, but not Italians).

So the latest is..

Adlene Guedioura is having a medical tomorrow to sign on a permanent deal. I guess to replace Livermore and the injured Mason? Whether we're still in for another (better) CM remains to be seen.

Andrea Ranocchia is flying in tonight to have a medical tomorrow. Thats CB covered. We'll now have Maguire, Dawson, Bruce, Ranocchia and an injured Davies.

We have tabled a 9 million euro bid for Nicolas Pepé from Angers SCO. Apparently the 3 big French teams also bid for him but were rejected. Our bid is the highest and is being seriously considered.

There also seems to be something in the Gradel deal.. but perhaps this is just a backup option if we fail to sign Pepe.

Have I missed anything?
yes, you missed Crossroads..

Dont know much about him but will judge when I see him , just been on the Watford forum and most say he isn't good enough for the premier league and are chuffed they have got three million for him. Silva must see something lets hope he gets the best out of him

What makes you think Silva is doing the choosing ? I think Ehab is identifying players and Silva is just told what to say.

Maybe Curtis Davies and Michael Dawson would look equally out of place in an Inter Milan first team but that's not to say he can't do a job for us scrapping at the bottom of the Premier League.

I wouldn't be that gutted if Andy left in general, but for £10m you're taking the piss. For a young British defender who's played 2 seasons in the PL, that's ridiculous.

I'd take all that £10m and bid for Sessegnon at Fulham. Then watch Ehab's face in horror when we're quoted 3 times that amount and he realises what a colossal idiot he is.
Surprised at you Sterling supporting the 'Football Manager' transfer policy. One positive about the lack of players was that it appeared to create a great team spirit. It's suicidal dismantling that.

In fact it makes it even less likely, as he won't be used to relegation scraps, and being just on loan means he has no personal investment to grafting us out.

Not just this season.
So when you say 'but the fact remains that Snodgrass has the second best conversion rate from FKs in the league' you don't actually mean the Premier League, what league do you mean? As when we were last in this league he played one game!!

Suggesting selling Robertson would be good business

That's exactly what I didn't say. That's a new one, being accused of something I didn't say even when there's the capacity to look at it on a screen just to be sure.

I said I wouldn't mind if Robertson went in general, but I'd not be happy if he went for £10m.

Eh? The stat is from 2012 to now. I assume 2012 is when he played his first PL game.

EDIT: Yes it is. So the stat is based on 88 PL games.

Exactly, and that is what I am picking you up on. We've already had the heart ripped out of the squad, we don't need another leaving certainly in this window.

The heart? We've lost 2 players. I know we're down on numbers (or were), but it's not like half the team has done one. Jake has gone, but we've got Thudd in the form of his life and 2 pretty handy looking creative midfielders in Evandro and Guedioura . Plus Clucas and Meyler too. Snodgrass going was down to the player, so it's up to the rest of the lads to pick up the slack now and pitch in. Hopefully Markovic turns out to be better than he's looked, Niasse can start scoring and any other new signings can add to that as best possible.

All this talk of the 'great togetherness of the squad' is really nice, if it weren't for the fact that we managed to win 3 PL games last year and played some pretty awful football at the same time. Marco is now trying to breed that 'small group' mentality out of the players and have them believe that they have the talent to keep us up and prove everybody wrong. I'm in the "we really need to stay up for the money" camp, not the "let's all hold hands and sing about how much we love each other" camp.
