The Allams want their money back - Ehab ****ed up the sale - it was always on the cards that they would sell the higher value players to get their money back - the club are £100 million in debt - personally I'd be happy with no debt, we played well on Sunday without either Livermore or Snodgrass and Mason wasn't on the pitch for most of the time - we can still avoid relegation if we loan and sign wisely - its really not being driven by any of the players, its being driven by the Allams - they could easily give Snodgrass a longer contract - they don't want to
Agreed but it is being driven by Snodgrass too. We offered a 3 year deal he wants longer more money and no relegation clause. I doubt burnley will get him.
If they are refusing to give longer contracts then they aren't totally ****ing us.

Well why did they spend £25m in the summer then?

As I said, if you think Snodgrass is worth 20+ Million you're down right deluded.

He's actually worth far more ie potentially the difference between a 20th and 17th placed finish in the Premier League-
TV money alone for remaining in Premier League is at least £85m a season and that is assuming you don't even get picked for a single live game. Suddenly £10m doesn't seem such a great deal given the impact losing Snodgrass could have on us staying up

first of all, the sale was still on, second it was partly funded by the Chinese consortium, third, we were in danger of falling foul of the PL by taking money and not using it to run a competitive team - once Ehab ****ed up the sales there was only one way to get their money back - personally Id rather them get the debt down in a managed way rather than just bust the club further down the road

Chaz he's maybe worried about his knee and wants a deal now? He knows better then anyone how his knee is but I can imagine it's his driving factor for wanting a long deal? A deal wasn't forthcoming from city And maybe their medical staff have said he's not worth the risk? We as outsiders will have to wait for the book to come out in a few years time!

He has 18 months remaining on his contract - the boy/the manager/some ****er gets him in their office and tells him "we're not selling you until the summer, now get out my office and get on with it" ........... or words to a similar effect.

And if he refuses to play?

The worst thing about the club at the moment is that there are glimmers of hope, which is then shattered almost instantly. We get an exciting manager, start to put in good performances, then lose our 2 most consistent players and our record signing within a week. I can't see any way back from this. The belief that the players had managed to cling on to is surely gone now. Even if the Allams spend money (which I seriously doubt), there is absolutely no guarantee that the gambles will pay off. Foreign players new to the league are almost never ready to hit the ground running in the premier league, and are unlikely to fill the personality void left by two popular British players. And that's not coming from a xenophobic position, simply that they won't speak the language well enough initially. The damage to team spirit is going to be irreparable, and that's the most important thing for a team battling relegation. I was relatively positive about our chances until now, but I think we're down whether or not the utter bellend running the club allows Marco to spend.

I think it's a huge shame that we're selling Snodgrass (because of his goals and set-pieces), however, I feel like it is more than possible for him to be adequately replaced as, as some have mentioned, he was often poor defensively, sometimes turning away from tackles and often failing to track back. We performed well enough against Chelsea without him that I don't think we need to panic before the end of the transfer window, however, if City fail to find a decent replacement, then I'm more than happy/ready to get really pissed off about it.

On Sundays showing we need something better than Evandro to take free kicks and corners
