You don't need to be Mystic Meg to come up with that - if daft money is offered for a player who isn't signing a new contract, for a player who's one mistimed tackle from a bad injury then that player will be gone. He'll be a huge miss if he goes but, we'll get on with it.

Why would you sell him this window when he has 18 months on his contract? He won't be worth any less in the Summer with 12 months left on his contract. The only reason he could possibly be sold is the owners are silly bastards and they want Championship football next season.

Your last sentence has it, his value WILL be less in the summer though - this is the January window when clubs are panic buying and fees are always inflated; if Palace/West Ham think £10mill for Snodgrass will keep them up, they'll pay it, they won't pay that in the summer. If our owners are daft enough to sell our key assets to rivals then it tells you everything you need to know.

Why would they appoint Silva, back him with signings and then sell our best PL assets?

If we wanted £15m now, he'll still be worth £15m in the Summer. Demand dictates that, there's certainly more than one club interested in Snodgrass.

I don't know the workings of the club and I think it would be madness to sell our assets this month, especially to rivals. I believe you're wrong with the premise that Snodgrass will be worth the same in the summer as he is now ..... apart from Hull City, no-one's panic buying in the summer, if we're relegated he'll be sold for a lot less than he's worth now.

It's madness to contemplate selling asets, but if the Allams remain in charge - they have form for madness.

So, based on that example of worth less if we get relegated. How did that work out for Newcastle United in the Championship? They still got top dollar for Wijnaldum et al. Snodgrass is no different stay up or go down. Value is intrinsically related to time remaining on contract. That's why we are seeing low ball offers as clubs think he's out of contract in the Summer.

How do you know they couldn't have got more for him had they sold him in the summer? You don't, same as we don't know if Snodgrass will go for more or less in the summer than he would now .... don't bother replying, we're just going round in circles.

I'm honestly not trying to be mystic meg! I have just heard that 10mil will make us sell, but if he doesn't work in Silva's plans then crack on

When you think that £12m gets you a Jeff Schlupp and Norwich want £13m for Brady who's done nothing there. Snodgrass at £10m is an absolute bargain. I know he's older but he's a much better player and still has 3/4 years left at the top level.

It's a bit different. Wijnaldum and Sissoko are top talents that the big clubs wanted.
