Unless it's in the league rules, which I very much doubt, there is no legal obligation for us to honour any price until we confirm the deal, and obviously it's done then anyway.
As I have never seen a club reject a bid after having accepted it, I suspect there may be something in the rules.
Come on fellas.. its like meltdown on here whenever we sell a player.
Like the Livermore deal, Snodgrass would have made it clear he wanted to go. We've made a small profit on a player who had a serious injury a few years ago and most thought would never play again. Yes he's had a great start to the season but there's nothing to say he'd carry that form into the future. He was never THAT good for Norwich in the prem if I remember correctly, I believe it was only us who bid for him when Norwich went down.
Also before we start the very boring "lets blame Ehab" crap, im sure he would have consulted with Marco before selling. Silva comes out and says the right things in press conferences because lets be honest, he's not really going to say anything else, but im certain he would have approved the Livermore & Snodgrass deals. He's had time to assess and he probably thinks they arnt as important as many believe.
Lets wait till next Tuesday when the window shuts and see how we've spent the money. We could be sat here with a much better squad and some really exciting players to give us the best chance of staying up.

But even that doesn't make sense, if he's cash-hungry he could have got at least another 5-6 for Snodgrass based purely on the fact there are four clubs quite happy to pay our asking price.
He was brilliant for Norwich, their best player according to a large chunk of supporters, and he's been even more important for us.
Why would anyone offer more? All they have to do is offer Snograss more.
Can you explain then why he said he would have liked to have kept Livermore and that he was an important player for us? Or are you're 'probablys' more accurate?
To sell your best player when you're in the middle of a relegation battle proves it's nothing more than asset stripping by the Allams. No other reason makes logical sense
£10m was a good price for Livermore, it's not enough for Snodgrass specially given the circumstances.
Anyone saying he doesn't offer enough need just watch a game and see the contribution he makes in the middle of the park with his movement - always available, great ball retention and a decent brain and passing ability.
He's never a £20m player, £15m would be about right. He's not irreplacable, even for £10m, but it's tough to replace an in form attacking player on a budget. £15m would have given us enough to give us plenty of options for improvement.

£15m would have given us nothing cos ehaw isn't interested in reinvesting the money, he's pocketing it
i felt 10 million was fair for livermore who isn't that good a player. snodgrass is a much better player but he's 29, like payet. Would be a bit ridiculous if marseille signed payet for 25 million and we're all here expecting the same amount for snodgras.. i think 15 million should have been the minimum.

Well, just as an example, say someone offered us an extra £1m up front provided we rejected any lower offers, that would be equal to approx £4.5 a week over the rumoured 4 year contract Snodgers is after.
It could work out cheaper to pay us off than have a 4 way bidding war with the player.
It probably won't happen, although I'm sure I remember it happening a few times in the past.
