He's a huge talent and just because it hasn't worked here for him doesn't change that. It's up to him to make a career for himself, but saying he isn't a top prospect is just wrong
Just from what I heard though, he didn’t exactly stand out over even some of the younger wingers we have in our u21s. Will Jarvis made a bigger impression in Turkey, Vale is just a step ahead on a physical standpoint

Pelkas and Tufan have been our creative 10s so far with Slater or Doc there if we've decided to prioritise the press. Traore is an AM also though he has played right and deeper in his career. It was said at the time that Vale had come in to compete for the right sided spot. Evidently we had more suitable options both in the 10 and on the right than Vale - despite injuries otherwise one of the 3 coaches this year would have been regularly playing him.

A lot of a young prospects value is in future potential, but until they break through into men's football that's all it is whether they're on £250 a week or 25k a week.

In fairness in my error I did forget about Pelkas as it feels like its been forever since we've seen him. Do agree though, it does say a lot about Vale that we went Doc/Slater on the wings instead of him as well

It is and it isn't.

LR clearly likes him, took him to Turkey and started him over there and got him on in the FA Cup game too. A couple of years ago we had massive hopes for him, but he's had a few bad injuries and really struggled
I wouldn’t necessarily rate him higher than Harry Wood or Olly Green though based on what I’ve seen of them all.

city have agreed to cut joshs contract short so he can sign for a club this month

Rosenior has sanctioned Emmanuel's departure allowing the 26-year-old to exit his contract early, ahead of its expiry this summer, and it's hoped a move to League One or Two will be agreed over the weekend.

"Something could happen before the end of the window," Rosenior explained. "I really would be happy for any club that takes him is taking an absolute gem of a lad. He needs the game time he deserves because he's a top, top lad, a great professional and a very, very good player."

a player can be good but a squad has a limited size
finances
why keep a player who realistically won't play
different players offer different attributes

plethora of reasons

We do have the bigliest contracts.

One guy came up to me, great guy, one of my own appointments, he came up and he said "SIR" - they call me sir, I tell them not to but they say "ah well you know we have to call you sir" they don't have to they know me, they know I'm a laidback guy but he called me Sir. He said "SIR, why are our contracts so huge?" and I just told him, I said that the Iranians want to do a deal and to deal with these people you need to be tough; now there was a time when we would just let people go, can you imagine that? Just letting them go for millions of dollars, bye bye, never to be seen by our many great supporters, look at them there, out there, next to the media, we don't like them do we folks? No, they lie, they're fake, the fake news. But we need to be tough, we need to make sure we train well and our players keep being the best in the division, because last season we won the division, we were winning and frankly we did win the Championship, can you believe they didn't promote us? Unbelievable. Nottingham Forest and their lying, fake staff, bad players, bad bad players, I hear one of them was changing the boots of the opposition, we hear one of them was paying a referee while the crowd was checking the scoreboard, can you believe these guys? But they get the money, of course they do, they cheated you, they cheated all of us in that fake promotion year.

So will we finally get a better idea what has gone on, or are we ever to be subject to just rumour and conjecture?

Newcastle United are close to signing Everton's Anthony Gordon after the clubs agreed a deal that could eventually be worth £45m.

I wonder how much time we're giving Toffolo to make his mind up. Maybe sit on the bench in the Prem or come play football in the Championship for a few months.. I thought we only wanted players who wanted to be part of the Acun family? Hopefully we've got someone else lined up if he rejects us.

It's going to be an interesting next few days ;)
